I've surfed the net and found quite a few game Engines for download. is there anyway to use these engines in DB? (such as the quake engine)

DB IS your game engine, quake is an alternative game engine.

Just like you drive a Ford or a Vauxhall (sorry, GM), you can't drive them both at the same time, even if you own one of each.

DB is NOT a game engine. It's a simplified language that can make engines. Quake 3, star trek voyager assault, SOF2, these all use the same engine. They all have the same method and algorithms for collision, among other things.

A game engine IS a simplified language that let's the higher level peeps build a game.

DB is a game engine, it lets you move 3D objects around a screen without getting involved with the DirectX interface thingy. It also rveals a host of simplified functionality to perform mathematical calculations on these objects.

If you make an engine with DB, you are adding another layer to an existing engine to remove more of the complexity.
