Sadly, Ronnie James Dio, legend of his band, Dio, singer for Black Sabbath when Ozzy was away and he continued to rock with Black Sabbath under the new name, 'Heaven and Hell', die yesterday from stomach cancer. He shall be missed.

http://www.ronniejamesdio.com/

Some songs to remember him by:

Dio - Holy Diver
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64coD-rx9sk
Black Sabbath - Die Young
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frtJQFe9apw
Heaven and Hell - Bible Black
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUs3i9oCs3U

I can say it was awesome watching him perform with Heaven and Hell, probably one of the best bands I've ever seen live, awesomeness that can't be represented in a music video I'm afraid.

It's always sad when something like this happens. Growing up on his music, in Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio, and getting to hear H&H. He was definitely an inspiration to myself and many others, and he will be missed. He was a great musician, that unfortunately most people have lost interest in him over the years, which is very sad. He was always busy in various bands, and was a wonderful person and composer.

One more song that should be mentioned.

Sad, sad day. One of my favorite songs was when he was with Sabbath: Neon Knights. He will definitely be missed.

Gods don't die, so neither does Ronnie James Dio! Peace Ronnie, and teach the angels in Heaven how to ROCK properly!

One of his best songs ever with DIO, IMO:

I was having a wonderful day today. Then I read this thread and my day was completely ruined. I echo what BlueKlayman said:

I haven't heard his music neither do I like him but I know he played in Black Sabbath replacing Ozzy (I never listen to them either ), but R.I.P. to him, I'm sure he changed the world of Rock or whatever genre it was xD.

Well you can all share my corner! Just make sure you wear deodorant. Also I don't want to get slapped for being off topic but I realized that I forgot to say

Not really relevant to Dio - but it seems like this last week has been pretty bad for music/audio. Fritz Sennheiser died yesterday as well
