I'm not Indiana Jones or Nick Cage and I'm not trying to find a lost ark nor a national treasure. I'm tired of tripping through minefields. I just want to install a program without having to hunt through registries and then do some programming!"
Sound like the operating system might be to blame there, and now you know why I call mine Windblows.
Quote: "Ok. I've Win 7 64-bit Home Premium with plenty of RAM and a gazillion bytes of hard drive space. I've downloaded 1) Microsoft DirectX SDK (August 2007); 2) The Game Creators Dark GDK; and 3) Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express. I know they said I should download Microsoft 2008 something-or-other on the GDK website, but that link sends me to 2010. According to another web page MVS2010Express is a compiler.
I can see all these programs in my Start Menu, but they cant see each other. Everything was installed default (no funky directories - installed as-is) So what's up?
When I try to install "Dark GDK - 161107" which is the program name I get some error saying the Microsoft Compiler needs to be installed...well it IS installed.
And if everything is perhaps installed correctly, where's my Dark GDK icon? How do I run the thing?"
And what exactly does this have to do with FPSC Scripts??? (did I go into the wrong forum again?)
Seriously though, you might get a faster response and much more direct help in their forum than you will here.
I know you are upset, but you are certainly not the first person with problems installing programs on Windows so I am sure there is someone who can help in those forums.
Most of the users here use FPSC because they do not need to know how to program, which means most of them do not use the programs you are seeking help with.
I wish I could help other than suggesting the other forums, but I know little about the DarkGDK.
Good luck
