It's that time of year again, when people's results start coming in, be they for school, college or university. It'll be interesting to hear what people have been getting.

For me, my degree hangs on these results as it is my final year at University. We do 4 double modules each year and my grades for those this year are: B, C+, C+, C

Given how difficult it was to get the work done, I can at least appreciate those, I wasn't aiming for spectacular grades, because I destroyed my sanity enough as it is. Though I know I ought to have done better...but who cares of that? I am actually pleased.

The 'B' was actually for my dissertation, which was probably the hardest piece of work and I enjoyed doing it, even if my sanity broke. Reading the tutor's comments, they were very positive - the only things I really ought to have done: collate my data into a chart instead of a table, proofread better, and because 2,000 words of the dissertation was meant to be an article aimed at a national newspaper, to basically have written it like the reader knew nothing about the subject area. Everything else seem to be really good, so me be happy.

Previous years results for Uni were:
Year 1: B-, C, C-, D+
Year 2: A-, C, D-, C- (or ACDC if you prefer)

I think overall I might be in for a Desmond (a 2:2) - but I won't know for sure for a couple of weeks. It's very average, but to me, my University experience was a lot more than just the final grade, after all, a degree is a foot in the door, but experience (in my case, volunteering and extra curricular activities) is what helps you get a job. Now, I have to find myself a job and earn meself some money and join the real world. But, once I have more financial stability, the first thing I'm going to do, is to fully move out and share a house with some friends.

So, what have other people been getting?

I just gradumacated from highschool with some As and some Bs and a GPA somewhere between 2.75 and 3.0, which I can't remember.

now before I start college I've got to get credit for that almost-not-useful semester of calculus. :/

Remember those old guys? They made epic renders, I think one of them was called DaVinci, and all they used was MS Paint. Sometimes it's just skill....

Just finished 2nd year Computing Science in uni, and maths too.

For 4 CompSci subjects: A2, A2, A3 and A5
For 3 maths subjects: A2, A3 and a D

Would have been all A's if it wasn't for what was supposed to be my easiest subject (hence the lack of studying).

Getting my pass list on the 21st (end of first year soft. eng. at Durham)

Should be fine but the mathematics module could 'go either way' (almost 100% exam)

If all you got were A's and B's then you should have a GPA over 3.0

For instance:
Quote: "3 A's 2 B's."

= 3.6

Let's see... my grades are..... oh wait, I finished college a few years ago.

Just got mine, a 2:1 in Biology. . I'm really pleased as I was a borderline and so was called for a viva voce exam. I must have impressed the examiner to have him recommend that I be put up a grade.

Was supposed to get mine today, but they've been delayed

Damn server overloaded so rather than managing the load on the server they simply disabled it instead (by replacing it with a 403 Forbidden notice. Nice)

I'm sure you'll do fine DavidR.

Also, congrats jrowe. I don't know the quality of my degree yet, I'm pretty sure it'll be a 2:2, but it'll be nice to know if I've just scraped a 2:1.

Well, I finally got them...

I passed everything except a pointless optional module in Psychology

Just looking into whether I can just skip re-sitting it as it's completely and utterly pointless

It might be possible, but doing a referral isn't so bad. I absolutely hated one of my year 2 modules and surprise, surprise, I failed it, but I decided to suck it in and think, "If I get on with it, I can just be done and move on" and just sat in the library for 3 weeks making sure it was the best I could get it.

Unless you mean resit an exam, then, spend as long as you can in the library studying? It's a pain, but hey, at least it's over quickly.

Sadly, the most I could get for a referral was a D-, no matter how much better my final essay way.
