I'm in the process of installing Linux on my GC.......But, I had a question. Anyone else done this, and is it worth it(in other words, do they really have a working 64 emulator for it??? God, thats the only reason im doing somthing this stupid!)? The Process is really long, and it's taken me a day or two to intall(and fidle with) my modchip. And it looks like i gotta do more stuff. No really, any one know if it's like the real linux, Cuz it be pretty cool to use my GC as a computer too.......

Hell, If i get Linux on it, I might even write some homebrew games for it.......

Sounds like a fine plan if all you intend to emulate the N64. Though you're probably on the wrong forum for that kind of thing, N64 emulation is rare and the few of us that do use a PC. And modding a gamecube? Way over my head.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

I know nothing of a working N64 emulator for LINUX... Although I can approve that Project64 will run on LINUX under WINE.

It's at times like this, that you'll wish you used a Dreamcast instead - much easier to mod, well you don't actually need to mod it at all to run homebrew.

WINE isn't technically an emulator.

He was just wondering if Gamecube linux would be capable of everything that a more PC-based OS would be capable of. i.e. if it can run WINE, Project64, etc. Honestly I have barely any experiance with linux, but I'd like to get into it.
