Edit: OK, sorry to be a downer, but you guys need to be aware of the quality of your banners. It's not a problem right now. Just be aware of it.

Edit2: Is there going to be any advertisement for this contest?

can you bump up the quality, there's like a lot of noise in your image.

I would like to know what people think of my banner, so that I don't have my hopes up for nothing, or the other way around.

Sure, here it is. The export settings of my jpeg's was set to a lower quality setting, that's what caused it. I'll redo some of the others too. I found it strange that the image was flawless in the paint program, but not when it was saved.

Cheers

It was better with "Take the red pill" because it is recognizably from The Matrix, but when you just say "this pill" it sounds like you are encouraging us to take drugs from strangers...

DJ Almix, you might've noticed the "Watermark" at the upper-right part of my banner. Can you replace it with this one?

Here's my horrible attempt, first time Paint'net's been used for something other than simple format converting here in a loooong time...

And if you don't get the reference, shame on you, but tbh, I couldn't find a good colour on the text to stand out, and I couldn't add more to paraphrase the song better. I won't be surprised if this doesn't cut it...

I'll add the sig - don't use my sig for much anymore, it feels neglected.

I've got one.

I'm not sure about the position of the TGC logo though. Any thoughts of if I should move it or anything?

EDIT: Not showing up, let me see if I can fix it.

Get rid of it, I would say, and make the text a lot brighter

Sure, but what do you mean by MS-Paint_ish? You want the X to be more straight?

Quote: "I'm not sure about the position of the TGC logo though. Any thoughts of if I should move it or anything?"

Hum, there are two options I can think of:
- Either you make the 'code' bit smaller, move it more to the right, and then position the TGC logo (scaled slightly bigger) near the left border of the banner;
- Or, make the TGC logo slightly bigger, and position it (vertically centered) just between the 'code' part, and the text part.
And, I would make the text in another color (brighter), choose another color for the glow (to suit the text color better), and center the text vertically.

This is what it looks like without it (I do agree that it is an improvement)

What colour would you suggest for the text/glow then?

Hum, orange, green (digital green), purple, lightblue, red. But, use a brighter color for the glow, or do just the opposite.
If you would make the text brighter (almost white) and leave the glow like it is, it would be better.

Ok, how is this then (kind of an orange/yellow/green)?

Thanks, the version that you added is uploaded in .png format though, the one on this post is in the required .jpg format.

No, but it is definately much better.
Personnaly, I wouldn't make the glow orange, because it doesn't fit quite well with the green. I would make it green too (lighter green) or yellow, or white or maybe light bluegreen. But, that's just my opinion.

I think that I'll leave it the way that it is. I tried a more green colour, but there wasn't enough contrast in the colours, and the text was difficult to read. I think that the way it is, the glow blends, but offers enough contrast to make the text easy to read.

I just finished two more banners. The first one has two variations. Don't know which one is best, though?
Any suggestions?

And this is the other banner. Rather catchy too, I think?

@DJ Almix
I noticed that you have two times the same banner posted. I know that that selection wasn't the final one, but just thought you should know.

Cheers
