Like true 2d or faked?

Like, you could texture "3d" object plains with say a picture of a monster, and uh... well then you get into a bunch of complicated stuff that I... uh... I'll shut up now...

Umm... You don't know what I'm talking about

Um... if you make an object plain, then texture it with whatever your going to shoot, you could move them around with the position object, delete them if they get shot, etc.

Or... I think you could do it with sprites. I think that that's what your after, in which case my knowledge is very limited. Actually, I'm not certain as to what you mean exactly. Do you mean like Contra, (Think NES Mario with a gun) or do you mean like Doom, (Monsters are 2d, but the environment is 3d) probably the first right, or closer to it?

WarHunterX might have a point... or you might just uh... well, WarHunterX might have a point...

But just because you are new (assuming that you are) doesn't mean that you can't make a full game. I mean, sure, you might have to make it completely from other peoples snippets, or look at the help menu every 15 seconds...

But that's assuming that you are new. You might have somehow... I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt... but...can't...do it... you are new to this, aren't you?

Yeah, but I can remember when I was a pure newbie. In a way I still am, but I think I can still help you.

I have learned that it is more rewarding to get cheap in DB if you want a 2D game that looks good. By cheap, I mean you need to go 3D but limit it in the dimension you desire. Think games like Contra: Shattered Soldier and you get the idea. Use plains if you must, and sometimes sprites. We have enought DOOM clones that aren't written in DB as it is, so please don't use any sprites unless it's 2D- just a suggestion.

Hmm, to answer your original question... working with Sprites, you can make it so that when the mous is clicked, you show the bullet sprite and have it move in the direction that the shooter is facing then to see if it hits anything, just use SPRITE COLLISION(Sprite Number, Target Sprite Number)=1 and then hide the bullet sprite and the sprite that got hit...

I would make some code, but i dont have time...

i found out how to do it...my professer is retarted....the whole reason i got into darkbasic is because o have to create a rpg game sports game and shoot em up game.... i got one done now i have to do the 2 other ones which i have no idea how to do...(i am studying website designing for this year.
