To be honest - if the model is 9K tris, you might as well make a 1024* texture for it, seeing as textures won't affect the frame rate as much as the count will...

thats very cool... i actually have an elephant character in my Age of Reliks project im working on. He isnt normal or color mapped yet though. One thing i can say is that the shoulders deform a little too much as apparent by the streching of your map. You might need to adjust vertice weights a bit more in that area, or maybe add a little more constraint to the controling bone If you actually use your own shoulders as an example you will be able to tell better about how much movement there is in a humanoid structure there. Other then that good work so far.

the model does indeed look like 9000 tris, considering the smoothness of it, atleast in some parts..

Texture looks kind of booring, but iam assuming you are not sone yet?

It doesnt like you?? LOL. I know the feeling, in high school i used an educational version of 3DSMax (2002) and i used to program in qbasic. Between the two my 3d experience was box modeling half assed things in 3ds, and writing a program that desplayed text defined wire mesh... that did nothing but spin around. Back then a friend introduced me to blender and i fell flat on my face trying to learn it and gave up. Later i decided to give it another shot and it really grew on me, and with practice it became so natural that now you cant get me to try anything else. I think you are incredibly talented so one day give it another try and see what happens. Anyway i love the character and the composite you did. THe only thing i can see is that the shadow he casts might need a bit more touch up in FS or Gimp (whichever you use) to blend better to the background.

Why i sue anim8or and free tools..?
R: I have a old pII PC in my home...

Now after earthquake, i buy a new PC..
so i can use zbrush and 3dmax.. but this model is made in anim8or..

I'm gonna be one of the first people in line for this pack if it is in fact FPSC ready, because it could help me with one of my projects big time!

Neodelito I use Anim8or too, it's not the tools that makes the difference it's the knowledge of how to use them. I'm a low poly kind of guy, so I envy people like you that make these awesome models.

Cheers!
