Hell, that makes me want to up and enlist. Very encouraging.

Pretty it up with words as much as you want, it's going to be absolutely brutal. Trust me, I would know. I've been through it before (granted it was in America for me, but still). No matter what you do, they will beat and train the crap out of you, partly to toughen you up and partly just for kicks. They will make you as miserable as is humanly possible, and then some. At first you will wish that you had never been born, but eventually you will become so desensitized that you won't even care. The person you used to be will be gone forever, and in it's place will be a hollow shell whose only purpose in life is to kill the enemy. And if you have to go into an actual war, well that's a whole new level of misery.

I'm not posting this in an attempt to dissuade you from doing whatever it is that you truly want to do, I am simply trying to illustrate what it will really be like, based off my own experience. Don't think that it's going to be all glorious and heroic, or that you'll actually gain anything from the experience. They will beat the humanity out of you and send you off to die in meaningless wars.

I don't understand what you're asking. No one actually died from the training (at least as far as I know), you're useless to them if they kill you before the enemy does. If you're asking if they gave us food and such necessities, well this is probably where it differs from country to country. In general, you get enough to keep you breathing, but that's it.

the official statistic is that every year 400 people die during training in the russian army. the numbers are proboly greater. Varios punishments for slight disobedience and stuff like if you faint during a 20 km run and a sargent has to carry you the rest of the way. stuff like that may result in beatings, denial of food stuff like that. i am mentally prepaired for it, i still might have a shot at avoiding the army but physicaly iam really unprepaired.

Actually, the only way you can be prepared is physically. You can never be mentally prepared for it. No matter how bad you think it will be, the training will be ten times worse. And there is always the danger that you will have to use that training to kill people. Having to kill someone, even if your own survival depends on it, changes you. It will make you hate yourself, or at least you'll hate whatever it is that you've become. It's not just the quality of your life that you'll hate, that's nothing. You will hate yourself on moral grounds, because of what you've done to other living beings.

Trust me. It would be better to live in poverty, having to struggle for every meal, than to have to go on with something like that on your conscience.

well i know for a fact that i will not have to kill people. the whole general russian army training is aboutmaking you into a real man and stuff. unless you are in spetsnaz you will proboly be lucky to get any real weapons training. mosp people i know who went there say its a complete waste of time filled with tons of physical exercise and crap. i only know one person who was actually in the second chechnean war. he was a heavy weapons specialist a communications person, a tank driver and everything and even he say the army is a complete waste of time.

Since I'm from America, I don't know how the Russian military is structured. But if everyone you know who's been there has said that it's a complete waste of time, perhaps you should work harder to avoid it.

The most accurate figures I could find for the number of soldiers in the Russian army is around one million, so the chance of you dying based on your 400 a year is 0.004%, which is probably the same chance of dying when using a pair of scissors
I don't think that is something to worry about but Herakles knows better than me about how hard it will be.
Are you training? I would suggest doing some long distance running so you are at least at a good level of fitness when you get called up, unless you can avoid it that is. If you avoid getting called up you'll still be a bit healthier

I usually run every other day (I haven't at the moment because it's getting really cold and I'm a wuss). If you run one or two miles, then add a mile when you get comfortable at that distance you should be fine.
Do you know when you will be called?

no idea, but i am beginning to hope that they will just ignore me this draft season and i have a genuine backup plan that should get me out of service. also my friend said he will help as he has connections to all the sketchballs that can get me out of the army for about 10000 bucks. I trust him, he knows all the tricks and loopholes when it comes to sketchy things, he got himself out of the army using a method i better not disclose here

Hey

I know you can't really leave Russia but it could maybe be possible to go somewhere like Vladivostok or somewhere east. As it is fairly underpopluted, I think.Just a small thought as it could be inconvinient. I'm not american but I've been to colorado andf I can say it's one of the best places I've ever been, and I've been to spain, france, englan, ireland, austria, germany, thailand and all the states down under

You could also get a job around here, learn some 3d so you can make your own online buisness.
I'm going to Russia next year. Far east though, at lake baikal I think.

Jeez people are extremely immature and juvenile in their behaivor. And I'm half their age at least.

Well good luck

So you'd be happy to go in there and get the (don't know what word to use) beaten out of you. You're right, he has a lot to gain, a lot of injuries. Jeez I'm in a bad mood (my computer with all my work isn't starting up)

ah youre so lucky, i always wanted to go there. I hope you have a good time in russia.

as for hiding, i think if things get bad, one of my last resorts would be renting out a small room for a 200 bucks a month in some quiet part of moscow. since i am registered elsewhere, they wont be able to find me. easier to hide in a metropolis of 20 million. if i go to a smaller town where a local police chef knows everyone and people are gonna wonder who am i and before i know it, an ID check. The police and the army are working together these days to find possible recruits. i guess suspicios neighbors might give me away but thats anywhere.
