So, as a gamer I love to see zombies getting murderd. And I love zombie movies, but I never thought that a zombie tv series could be so good as this one, If you havent seen it you should. And if you have seen it what are your thoughts on it? Did you think it was good? And is this the first zombie inspired tv series?

I personally think that it is very incredibly good quality for being a TV show, and every episode is almost an hour long! I never thought I'd say this but it maybe the best of all zombie movies & tv series I have seen to date.

Youtube trailer/ Warning the Youtube clip is kind of a spoiler for the first episode in my opinion, you have been warned!

No Sky, no cable, no nothing here, but I've put it on my reserved list on LoveFilm for when it eventually makes it to DVD. Looks good. I love slow zombies!

Insert piccy sig here. Eh? Why didn't that work?!?! Must ring help-a-noob. What was the number again? .... where am I?

It's pretty damn good IMO, in fact, it's better than all those zombie films I've seen since the Dawn of the Dead remake.

MASSIVE continuity errors throughout (the deveil of having four or five film units, each with different teams and directors all shooting at different locations at once, not to mention the special effects units) but nonetheless I agree with Van B - best zombie flick(s) since the remake.

Care to elaborate? I've been watching the show since it started and haven't noticed anything massively wrong. Please put them in CODE tags so as not to spoil it for the rest.

I think the Dawn of the Dead remake is the best zombie film too. While I think Dawn of the Dead (original) is truly awesome and better than the remake in almost all regards, it's severely let down by its old skool special effects and rubbish zombie acting. I own it, I love it, but the remake is a better overall watch.

Best zombie scene ever in my opinon - intro the 28 Weeks later. Heart pumping to the extreme. Awesome.

I don't know why I've gone off on a tangent. I bloody love zombie movies!

My next Android game after Space Squadron will be a zombie survival simulation, assuming I can justify making it (i.e. if Space Squadron makes me any money at all).

ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIES!

Yeah, Slow zombies has really died out. I am glad that they made them slow in this series, they can still be deadly though!

If you like 28-Weeks, you'll like this - it's inspired, but really there's no better way to start a zombie adventure, being uncouncious is the best excuse for missing all the fun, and not knowing wtf is happening. I have to agree, 28-weeks has an incredible opening scene, visually and technically - must have taken a lot of planning!

I think the original Dawn is my all time favorite zombie film. The remake is great, even in it's own right without the 'remake' tag. The comedy zombie flicks have been decent too, even though it seems we talk about this every other week here - Zombie Land was great, and Sean of the Dead was hilarious. It's those new zombie films that try and make a 'statement', still, after all these zombie films, games, etc - some directors need to concentrate on making a fun movie, no making a point that nobody remotely cares about. We want zombies that we can imagine surviving with relative ease, we want annoying people getting owned, and dare I say it, some humanity. If the zombies 'human' side is just annoying, then there's no point. Anyone watch Isle of the Dead?, what a rediculous, miserable waste of zombies that film was.

Never seen it, and won't on that recommendation.

I think a film with both types of zombie would be great. In my zombie fantasies (oh yeah baby!!!), or rather, imaginations for games etc., you'd have fast newly-dead zombies, and slow rotten ones. Before they decompose, they run, and once they've started to get a bit wiffy, they get the old zombie shuffle going on.

With that method, you have the best of everything:
- Fast zombies at the start, which helps explain the apocalypse. While I love slow zombies, there's no way there could be a zombie apocalypse because on their own their don't pose enough threat.
- Slow zombies for all the coolness of allowing the environment to be less lethal, yet always intimidating and allowing some fun.
- Random shock moments when you aren't expecting the fast beggers.

If I do eventually make this zombie sim for Android, that'll be my angle.

And film makers, take note!

If you're talking about the 2004 remake then no, it was poor.

You've pretty much just described the Ravenholm level in Half Life 2.

To me I think the reason why the series is so amazing is because the plot does NOT go like this, "ZOMG ZOMBIES: SHOOT, DIE, EAT, and BLAH!"
Obviously there is some of that but to a minor extent. The show actually has subplots and what not.

It's not just mindless zombie killing.

Awesome zombie show, bought the series on Amazon at my girlfriend's request. Definately the best zombie series, (though only zombie tv series) I've ever seen.

It reminds me a lot of Survivors, although Survivors doesn't have zombies

It already got picked up for 13 episodes for a second season.

The reason this was only 6 episodes was because it was just a test to see if people would like it.

People LOVED it.
