We all see fantastic sounding gadgets, that turn out to be rubbish. So if you've bought a horrible gadget for christmas that ended in disaster, let everyone know!

I thought I'd treat myself to a peanut butter making machine priced £29.99 it's advertized as you put nuts in, and get nut butter out. In the documentation it says you can use sunflower seeds. So I gave it a go.

Have a look at the amusing results, and mess it made.

Only jump on the Digital TV bandwagon here fairly recently (yes, they still broadcast analogue here until june 2011). Oh dear... can't stand watching it (i.e. awful bitrate, upscaled SD as HD.. grrr), of course that's assuming it works. It's constantly out..

My town switched off analog about 6 months ago. We were the first town in Australia to switch, we have nothing but problems.

Yep the reviews are pretty damning. I called the company, they issued a refund without any quibbles. They didn't even ask me to post it back, they just told me to throw it in the bin. Obviously I'll keep it until the refund comes through! But after that, I'll see what other rubbish I can buy

Good to hear your getting your money back.

At least they aren't totally ripping you off, just an hour of your time.

If you have a good signal here, the HD channels over the air are pretty good (mostly the news stations). But at least a little interference in analog only make random bits of static in the picture. Now that its digital, you either have it or you don't. So instead of a little static, the channel will either freeze or cut out completely. Fortunately, I got cable yesterday.

@Daniel TGC

Would it not have been cheaper to buy a pot of peanut butter XD?

I bought a usb hoover from ebay for about £3, which basically went into the bin the same day because of how bad it was for hooving up dust.

It's sort of getting better here over time, and the word is that when the A network is turned off, they'll boost the strength of the D signal. But, we heard the same rubbish when the phone networks moved across. A decade later and i still like a black spot. Want to buy a TV ? It's useless here.
