I get asked this question at lest 200 hundreds times when I make an release a game. I honestly don't know the answer. "Is it possiable to make it so you can drive the cars etc in FPSC created games?". I think it could be possiable but Ive never seen a script or mod to support it. Anyone have an answer?

It might be technically possible (with the help of a mod no doubt) but since large areas (namely outside areas) don't perform very well in the engine, so you could get vehicles working and you'd have no where to use them.

The answer is "yes". You would need the help of a Mod to pull it off, though unless that Mod has changed MUCH of the physics in FPSC it would not be entirely feasible to make a driveable vehicle.

I made a video and posted it on YouTube showing off a driveable vehicle in FPSC, but the entire thing (although fun in its own way) just doesn't flow well with the rest of the engine. The vehicle physics just aren't there, you can't do any jumps with the vehicle, or even get it to tilt for that matter.

Hope that sheds some light on the subject.

Hmm tha helps alot. Perhapps using dark physics I can mode the engine slightly.

Generally the FPSC engine is capable of a lot of stuff but driving cars - especially with belivable physics - is definitely a weakness.

If you are about to create a racing or GTA-inspired game, then other enignes are probably a better choice because no driving is definitely better than ridiculous driving.

And if its for a shooter, rethink the necessity. STALKER had no vehicles for all 3 games (although the modding community re-inplemented driving as early as in the first game)and was still a bestseller.

...well spoken, The Storyteller 01.

I do believe that someone just won the million dollar grand prize...

EDIT: Due to complications arising from another of the author's threads, it is
likely that he will delayed in returning to this thread.

Going to have to wait to get that million dollar check, I'm afraid...

I wouldn't not recommend using dark physics for this. The FPSC engine uses ODE for physics and mixing physics engines in the same game (on the same objects) is never a wise idea.

Lol well ive been absent but ive also been having alot of back pain recently. I threw out my back and well thats just so much fun. Anyway I think the posts have answered the question. Basicly yes you can drive the crs etc. but its not a good idea. However, I also have Dark Basic pro. Which makes me wonder if I can use DB Pro to modify a game made with FPSC to get a better result hmm.

You can make a Mod, if that's what you're talking about. FPSC is open source, so go grab the source code and change it up the way you want. Good luck with that.

Ill probably pass as this point. Ive got so much to do allready its crazy. Wed design business picking up and other projects our filling my plate right now as well. Like the others said though it might be best to just use a different engine.
