Oblivion was much like other RPG's, in fact it probably had elements of every major RPG so far. But that's what's good about it, because Oblivion is a great game, and most RPG's are not. Apart from Oblivion and Fallout3/NV, I barely play any RPG's, in fact I did a helluva lot in Oblivion besides completing it, I played through Fallout3 and all the DLC, and New Vegas was the only game I'd play for like a whole month.
There are no other RPG's that come close, and I have tried lots. So I get kinda puzzled by Benjamin saying it's just another RPG, because it clearly isn't - it's THE RPG, and all the other RPG's that have nothing to do with Elder Scrolls might as well turn in their umpteen facetted die. Can anyone name an RPG game that even comes close to Oblivion?
For me, The Witcher, and Two Towers just reinforced my opinion about how much better Oblivion is. Skyrim is gonna be amazing, and if you don't see that, then you probably aren't paying much attention
