This was the game I produced in the month of March last year as part of a contest with Intels new Appup store. I won $500 and I have decided to publish it here for free.

From the appstore:

Tilted video poker is a poker game played against the computer. See how much money you can
win! Starting out with only a measly $1000, see if you can turn that into many millions, or maybe even billions!
The game is a remake of the classic casino video poker game where the aim is to make a good five card hand by throwing away the cards that you don't want, and hoping that the dealer is on your side!

Create profiles for each player so everybody in your home can play. See who can get the most money.

Oh, and don't worry if you go broke. You will be given another $1000 to gamble with!

To be on tilt, is to lose your cool and to play badly and to give away your money. Lets hope the computer is on tilt!

The game is presented in a simple way, with in-game help available so anybody can get playing quickly. You don't have to be a poker pro to play Tilted Video Poker.

The game is played using a simple and clear interface, with a relaxing soundtrack and subtle animations which will definately not put anybody on tilt. Once the cards are in the air though, anything could happen. The ease of play coupled with the clarity the game is presented in and because of the nature of video poker itself, you may find yourself addicted.

Once you have created your own profile, you can choose from four different stake levels to play at, catering for the new player (often called a fish in poker circles) and the super high rollers who grace only the biggest of games.

Look's good! I don't have the slightest how to play Poker, but I will say this does look good. Looks like a great interface.

rem allow user create game with one click
rem create graphics, sound, scripts, models, with one click
rem slap user in face if game choice is mmo

Well I tested it and I have to say I'm really not very happy...

Now I have to play this game at least 5 times a day or my addiction is not satisfied

This is great!!! I got up to about 7.5 million before I had to stop myself.

Great work, I can see why it won!

Very Nicely Done It is easy to see Why you won.

Is the screen resolution locked because it was made for netbooks?

mnem, good to see poker's still on your mind (was that already 2+ years ago? seems like yesterday...)

nice video poker and something i'll keep on hand to feed the need. congrats on the prize(!) and i'm wondering if you'll be doing any tweaking or adding to this? minor things bug me here like the card graphics and how quick the hand's results come and go, sometime's uneventfully when i think there should be a little pause/flash/something to get your attention. otherwise, with the dbpro connection, it'll be my go-to for video poker

I will in the future be re-opening this concept and re-making it with better graphics and more games, but I do not know when this will be right now, as I have a lot to be busy with

Like the Rolling Stones would say: 'I can't get no satisfaction', but, with this great game of you Mnemonix, my poker needs are fullfilled. Heheheheh!
More variation in music would be nice.
You might even make some new 'poker rules'? Just some ideas.

I downloaded this last night,I started with $1000 and yes,I have won around 8 billion dollars,this is fun. I would buy this trully,thanks for the fun.

Ah, great game!My cousin have one of these tilt poker machines, actually it's running fine, he need just a soldering iron to fix one of the buttons.

They are addictive games, I almost go into a trance playing these games.
Did many people download your game from the Intel Appup store? I might try porting some of my planned new releases for Appup if the store gets interest from a good user base.

I have 7 games on AppUp including free demos and am just making enough now to cover the $99 yearly fee if they ever introduce it (currently waived). They just started their second year and haven't introduced it yet.

I would say if you are going to make more than three or four paid games and they are pretty good you will easily make back the fees if/when they start charging them.

Plus there's a fairly good mini-community building here willing to help (including me): DBP-AppUp Developers group

Ah! Great game Mnemonix! Work's super smooth and it's really cool that you did so well in the competition as well.

I've been looking into creating a similar; well not exactly the same format as the tile setup. I've been playing poker on and off for the last couple of years online and at one point I found this "which hand Win" calculator: http://www.pokerlistings.com/which-hand-wins-calculator and it's great for quickly knowing hands in a specific scenario and I'm thinking of building a game based on that concept, i.e. you get scenarios where you need to determine the outcome.

How did you go about creating the interface graphic for this though? Did you find a database of more old school images (for the cards for example)?

Young Chas Tenenbaum: Well, did you at least think the characters were well developed?
Royal: What characters? There's a bunch of little kids dressed up in animal costumes.
