I think we may have had a thread about this before, but CS5 hadn't even been released at the time. The puppet control alone is worth watching the video.




After playing with the trial though, that content-aware filler when deleting stuff doesn't seem to work very well for me.

I bought it a little while ago, but have yet to get into it and ween myself off of PSP. Glad I bought it though.

Yeah I got it for my Bday last year. It's a big leap from what I was previously on (PS7) but I haven't really played around with the new stuff.

Content-Aware fill isn't that foolproof though.

The content aware fill sometimes works magically, and sometimes doesn't work at all.


I'll tell you what content aware fill absolutely excels at, is making textures seamless. It's pretty insane how fast you can fill in areas that blend perfectly with a few mouse clicks. Much better than using the mushy clone stamp tool.

Puppet warp is also great for seamless textures. Say you have this great brick wall texture that has some camera barrel distortion. Those are a bitch to make seamless. But just place a few puppet-warp anchors and it's a cinch to make those lines perfectly straight.

Yep, Ive been using it for about 7 months now. No complaints yet. Puppet Transform works wonders for quite a few things as you can imagine. The last time I used it, I had just finished the base concept art for a character in a business outfit, and I wanted to overlay a corteroy fabric texture ontop of the shirt and jeans. I just grabbed a texture off google that had a bunch of vertical fabric lines running down it, brought it into PS, and started pushing around puppet points to have the vertical lines follow the contours of the character's clothing. It took less than 5 minutes to get a decent result, where previously I would have had to go into the Warp tool and Liquify tool and start a much more painstaking process to achieve the same effect.

Won the whole master suite from a very nice Asian representative of Adobe at a design conference. I was aiming for the IPhone at the time but I put my name in for most or all. Not complaining. Best set of tools to come in a box.
