FPSC Classic Scripts / Boarded up Doorway

I've been working on a map that has a room boarded up that the player must use an axe to break into. My problem is if I leave the boards dynamic they fall to the floor when the level starts. If I set them as static they stay in place but can't be chopped through.

I've seen people use this before. Am I overlooking something obvious or is there some scripting involved, etc?

I'm still learning all of this so any help would be great.

Set them as dynamic, with physics off.
