Assuming that you are talking about DarkBASIC Classic, the trial version only goes to version 1.08, while the full version can be upgraded to v1.13. In v1.13, a number of new commands were added, namely multiplayer and memblock commands, and, if I remember correctly, also better support for Windows XP. Some of these new commands are only useable though if you have DarkMatter 1.

I would be unstoppable if I could just get started...

and when you make a executable in the trial, it gives you an annoying message box every time you run it advertising DB.
