Do people still use those controllers for the computer? Because I was thinking: I could use that for my game instead of the keyboard.

Actually I just bought a Xbox 360 wired controller to use with my computer the other day. I only got to use it for a couple of days, but it's very nice for N64 emulators Now I can fully enjoy Zelda, Goldeneye, and Castlevania! However, if you were to use a controller for a FPS multiplayer game then you probably be at a disadvantage. A mouse is generally faster for a PC FPS than a controller, but a controller is still nice. Especially when leaning back and relaxing instead of hunched over my desk using the keyboard and mouse.

This is what I got - It is a bit pricey for what it is, but it's still very useful. Also the only thing you need to use it with the computer is this.

I bought the wireless receiver for the Xbox 360 controller. Now all i need is to buy a couch to put in front of the computer.

its getting more and more usual to be honest
i personally hate it, it works for certain games, like Trine or cortex command, but for serious shooter/action games, no than you..

well anyway: yes people use them

and for the record, I am a man.

I have an embarrassment of controllers... Xbox 360, hacked up original Xbox, Logitech steering wheel, thrustmaster steering wheel, Saitek cyborg joystick, arcade stick, double Sanwa joystick unit, and a selection of disappointing PC joypads.

The most useful controller I've found though, is just a wired 360 controller - it's actually becoming the standard controller for PC's - some games even support it right off the bat. For retro games with digital controls though, nothing beats the Sanwa arcade joysticks, which is expensive but the only way to play 2D fighters like SF2.

I use the XBox 360 controller for windows, not all older games work with it brilliantly, but I believe there are tweaks out there. I am one of those very strange people who uses a controller for FPS games, I've just got so used to it from playing on my 360 that I actually prefer it.

I just use my PS3 controller. No extra hardware was needed, just plugged it up USB style and downloaded a few drivers and it works fine. I prefer the XBox controller, but I'm not going to spend an extra $40 just because of that.

Thankyou everyone for their posts. Now I will probably use a controller with my game! (Which is still in the creation process).

@MrValentine - You are being annoying by drudging up dozens of old threads on the forum. Didn't you get in trouble for doing that before? And didn't you promise not to do that again?

At least here I see you're *attempting* to be helpful, but really your post isn't helpful at all. You can't just bump an old thread and say "I saw the solution somewhere, search for it". If you don't want to be a pain to the mods, and you actually want to help, then find the solution and post it here. Otherwise don't bump the thread!
