Guys I know this probably stupid but I'm at the point where I could snap this freak's neck and watch them drown in their own pool of blood.

A few weeks ago my mum noticed strange activity on her Facebook and we checked it out on recent activity, and to our surprise no suspicious IP was there. However, now they've completely taken over her account and has changed her relationship status, friends, DoB and profile picture and my mum can't access her email either.

I'm on the brink of killing the turd because my mum also had her phone on there and they stole £15 from it last week. I set up phone passcode security (asks for confirmation when you sign in) and a HTTPS server, yet still FA. Not I'm deciding to either take up hacking and hack their sorry butt or ask for more useful advice from you lot, seeing you're all the brains.

Her account is Gaynor Carling. The hacked details now are a cat picture, Single, 16th May 1975 DoB and 50 odd friends and half of which we don't know. Here are what I want please:

-Anyone on Facebook, could you please report the account so Facebook actually realises it.
-Someone to help me track the IP on her account without signing in on there.
-Hack her account
-Help me to get her email back

My questions arising are:
-If the hacker replies to an email I send, would I be able to track the IP?
-Is there a way to get the IP via Facebook without signing in?
-If you delete your account on Facebook, if you sign in during the time limit before it deletes your account does it cancel it?

I SERIOUSLY need help guys, I've already had a go at my friends on Facebook. I can't trust half of them but I don't want to lose trust in you guys either.

Please help.

I can't contact Facebook because there is no contact for them. And I'm gonna do the email my way and get them to reply to something if they do and get their sorry IP and send it to Virgin.

I'm not really wanting the pacifist approach, I want this person to regret what they have done :/.

As upset and angry as you may be, that doesn't allow you to break the rules of this board. Swearing, even if you're attempting to disguise it is not allowed.

Furthermore - and I know this will anger you further but please see the logic in this as someone who has been hacked - this could be anybody's account, and you could be asking people to hack and break the law on your behalf.

So please find another means of pursuing this, and bear in mind if you say you can't trust your friends, don't put your trust in complete strangers!

Sorry BatVink, I'm just so vented at this guy :/. I've managed to access my mum's emails and we've got the IP and location of the hacker and I dunno if our ISP will actually do anything .

We've managed to get partial control of her account AND we got the hacker's email too. Now all we need is a way to get them under the ISP spotlight .

And I had a bit of a mood swing too back then so I kinda lost trust in everyone and almost got to the point of just ceasing communications with everyone .

Sorry.

You forget the generation, Brian. Life without social media is like a fish out of water.

I wonder how we survived all those years without Facebook or even the Internet...

make sure you don't use your personal email

Also, any respectable hacker won't reply. Or will reply with falsified headers to troll you.

The only way to resolve this is through facebook and law enforcement.

Ok, first of all it's stupid to post your phone number on FB. I yelled at my gf for that when she acted surprised by annoying callers.

Quote: "If the hacker replies to an email I send, would I be able to track the IP?"

No, not unless FB provided it to you. (and yes they do track it)

Quote: "-If you delete your account on Facebook, if you sign in during the time limit before it deletes your account does it cancel it?"

No, a deleted account is deleted.

I didn't see you state anywhere specifically, but I'm guessing she can't access her email account and that's why you haven't done a password reset?

If you view your mom's profile, there is a link at the bottom that says "Report/Block This Person". Click on that and the first option in the popup says "This is my profile, but I no longer have access to it". Then go from there. And I'm not positive on this, but if her phone number was listed in FB, she might be able to have a reset code sent to her phone.

It's all sorted as I managed to get into her emails and get the IP, email name of the hacker so if they try again we can report them.

Thanks all, and I'm sorry I vented out my anger here, I've got a well-deserved slap for it.

Lucky she has a son who has some forms of advanced computer knowledge .

Thanks all and sorry.

I'm genuinely curious as to how you have your phone on facebook? If you mean she had her phone number on there, I'm even more curious as how they managed to 'steal' money from that.

@ Thraxas:

I was thinking the same thing. Did they call the phone collect costing her 15 euro or did they demand 15 euro from her?

All these people who complain about hacked emails and hacked Facebook accounts most likely have the most ridiculously simple passwords. When will everyone start using mixed case, punctuation, and numbers/letters? I never have these problems... ever.

And I don't know why you didn't just do a password reset when you finally got into your mom's email. And how did you even get into your mom's email if the "hacker" got in and changed the password? This all sounds fishy to me.

Yeah it's sad... 123456 as a password used to be safe from everybody but The Count.

Did you read the OP's post lol? He made it sound like it was a life or death situation. Shoot, he lost all trust in his friends and family because of it.

How is accessing her email giving you the IP and name of the 'hacker'?

She had it on some Facebook Credits thing, she plays half the games on there .

Well...
1). Tried to access her email buy going to "Forgot Password" and "My account has been compromised"
2). On the list of emails we had my dad's one AND the hacker's email. 1 of 2
3).. Got into her email and saw a "Login from device 'e' on Facebook".
4). Viewed that and saw the IP and location (Fb automatically does that) 2 of 2

From what I know they haven't tried again but I have credentials ready for my ISP if they try again .

It's nothing to do with your ISP, why would they care?
