I recently was recruited by a co-worker to help him out with a game he's developing with DarkGDK.net this weekend, making some important changes that he needed done by Tuesday of next week.

So I bought it, and now I have to WAIT FOR APPROVAL?! I just spent $30 bucks that I really had a hard time scrounging to begin with, and no response from support, no approval, and I strongly DOUBT that this post will even appear immediately. This is an absolute outrage.

Well, now it's past 5PM, so I know I am going to have to wait the weekend. This is absurd. I have ordered SO MUCH software online (I use STEAM regularly for purchasing, as well as a variety of software like RazorSQL) and when you PAY you get your freaking software IMMEDIATELY.

Why does TGC make you wait for approval when you've paid? And their refund policy won't let me ask for a refund because it's a download only product.

I think TGC process their orders by hand, sorry dude, but I think you'll just have to wait.

LOL, don't send an email to [email protected] either, as I got this reply:

We no longer handle support enquiries to The Game Creators via direct email.
We have built and installed an on-line customer support system which provides you
with enquiry tracking via support tickets and a much faster response time.

OF COURSE YOU DON'T BECAUSE YOU'VE PROBABLY GOTTEN THIS HUNDREDS OF TIMES BEFORE

Indicium, thanks for your reply and I understand that. But The Game Creator(s) implies that there is more than one person working there. I am sure they can't get too many orders a day, and could handle them on the same business day at least.

OR they could have a disclaimer while ordering that says HEY, JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE PAYING ALREADY DON'T MEAN YOU'RE GETTING YOUR PRODUCT UNTIL WE SAY OK!

Not raging on you though, Indicium, and thanks again for the reply =)

They do. Here's a quote from the order confirmation email that I always get (and so I assume you would also have received):

Quote: "This order does not require further payment. When your order is approved the items will be dispatched. This typically takes no longer than 24 hours during the week, or 72 hours over the weekend."

Also TGC are based in the UK, so if you are not you may have made your order outside of business hours.

No it's not, it's a minor inconvenience

A little patience goes a long way

[edit]
I'm just editing this whole post.

Seriously stop being so impatient; you will be fine. The impatience and sensitivity of people in this 21st century has become so pathetic it's driving me crazy.

Touche, Redneck Rambo. I suppose I am being unreasonable.

Thanks for responding, though. I've had a couple of beers and now I am good. =)

I quietly thought to myself "I want stuff from TGC. Please give me stuff TGC". They have not responded, OMG! Does this need approving before I get my stuff?

I didn't think you were being that unreasonable. I think that nowadays most of us expect to immediately be able to use a digital purchase. Your situation seemed less about patience, or lack thereof, and more about a looming deadline. Alas, it is Monday and I hope all works out well for you.

I agree. It seems odd that it needs manual approval at all.
