1st of all, if you haven't already seen the project zomboid thread, check it out. If you have, but don't know about the newest update which adds lots of modding support, then check it out again.

Now what I was wondering... What are the best zombie movies you've seen?

I have to say that 28 days later is my favorite (not 28 weeks later), followed by Sean of the Dead. Quarantine is also an amazing zombie film, although I've heard that it's a remake of a slightly better film.

Also, this movie is awesome, although it doesn't really have many of the elements of your standard zombie movie.

The original is [REC] and its much better than quarantine.

Quarantine is basically just an american rip off that jumped on the hype of [REC]. (if you watch it, watch it undubbed with subtitles )

Dod Sno was pretty funny even though its a "beer and pals" flick I really liked it...I was unable to take it seriously for just one second though

My favorite Zombie or Infected People movie is 28 days later aswell.

I would have to agree with 28 Days Later, but I also liked 28 Weeks Later, mostly because of Jeremy Renner. The 2004 Dawn of the Dead was also very enjoyable. If anyone mentions Resident Evil as being a good movie I will probably puke my guts out

yea, it's a remake of the Spanish movie, Rec. Haven't got around to seeing it because it is in Spanish and I get a little bored reading subtitles, but I will surely see it eventually.

I would prefer resident evil. That dawn of the dead remake just lagged everything. It was not scary nor somehow athmospheric. And the characters really fealed like offsprings of a storywriting for beginners class. I'm not concidering the resident evil flicks good though Just for the record...

I think that a lot of new movies are far better than the old stuff...but please! Leave the classics alone. Remakes like these made by soulless producers for the sake of money just don't belong in the cinema.

Braindead (also as DeadAlive) is pretty cool to watch with some pals aswell.

Yea, I didn't find it scary, but I still liked it for whatever reason. I think it was because it wasn't the traditional zombie movie where it's always dark or raining or some terrible condition. It was sunny and that just made it seem more realistic to me.

Zombieland (2009) with Woody Harrelson and Bill Murray.
Two greats, plus it was funny and had a story line other than just zombies.

Zombieland, Dawn of the Dead 2004, and Shawn of the Dead are the three greatest zombie flicks everrrrr!!!!!

Honorable mentions to all Resident Evil movies (especially the first one... actually, now that I think about it, Resident Evil 1 was better than Shawn of the Dead to me lol) aside from the 3rd one. I hated Resident Evil Extinction. It was an absolutely worthless film. But they made up for it with the 4th one. I loved the 3d in it and it was just a fun action killing movie.

Shawn of the Dead... Actually, I think I like pretty much any zombie movie. Dead Snow is a good movie too.

As for Project Zomboid, yay. I'm downloading my copy now.

Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland, definitely.

Not seen Dead Snow, but almost bought it, but picked up 'Let the Right One In' instead, I know it's a Vampire film (and this thread is about zombies), but it's a fantastic film and I highly recommend it. I've only watched the Swedish original so I don't know what the American remake is like. (To be honest, I prefer watching originals over remakes)

I didn't mind [REC], it was a good film, but I don't think it was anything special for me.

Resident Evil films are entertaining for me, but they're just raw action for me - don't care much about the plot, the zombie elements, just to watch people kick-ass in ways that are physically impossible. The latest I watched at the cinema in 3D and felt they slowed half the movie to just say, "3D? **** yeah!" But it was still a good film. If the protagonists in the games were as badass as Alice, you could finish each within 10 minutes.

Zombieland, because it took an interesting direction on the idea of the zombie apocalypse.

REC and REC 2 were pretty good IMO. REC 2 was especially enjoyable. Dawn of the Dead 04 wasn't that great, but the intro was very well done. (Johnny Cash + the fall of the world through the lens of a news camera.)

Also, Shaun of the Dead doesn't even need to be listed. It's an unspoken truth that it's pure win.

It isn't as good as 28 days, but I think the intro in the farm house is one of the greatest most tense bits of horror I have ever seen.
