It's quite a low bandwidth limit but it should work most of the time.

Nice menu heh....

There was Eru, the One, who in Arda is called Iluvater;(allfather)and he made first the Ainur, the Holy Ones, that were the offsprinf of hid thought, and they were with him before aught else was made.

You need a brighter color for text. And the game freezes for a second every time a new alien is spawned, which is annoying.

It has a certain addictiveness to it, simple but worth playing.

certainly inspired me to get back to my game.

Hey Chris,

Addictive game....I got some easy ideas for you. What you can do is instead of loading a new enemy every time one dies you can load say 25-30 enemies to start with, and hide the ones you arent going to use until later. You can put enemies "generators" or something and have them pop out of that (or have the enemies run out of a hut or ufo or something). You can have say 3 generators with 10 enemies a piece and have an enemy come out of the generator each time a comrade dies. Just one idea.

Also if you could make some way of recognizing that you just got hit, like make the screen flash a transparent blood red (easiest way) that would make it more tense I would think.....it would make me try harder not to get close to them at all.

Also maybe you can have a powerup or something that makes you deadly to the aliens touch (got to make it hard to get or use sparingly). It would be funny to have like 10 aliens chasing you and about to get you then haul ass away from you as you reach the power-up (PAC-MAN PELLETS! lol)

Just some thought...good luck

BatVink: Get going with that game. Release a demo asap so we can test and give advice. Here's a tip for you: play to DB's strengths. I'm telling you, lame little arcade games with no real point are the way to go.

Yay! I got 74673!!!! I rule! Hoorah!

That's a pretty good game btw. only a few problems with it though, it really lags alot when there are alot of enemies on screen at a time and when you use the gun power-up...

Other than that, it's a great game, may have a good chance of getting up there in the top ten

Damn, im gonna have to beat that now...

Btw, when there are alot of enemies around the character, the ones that appear seem to appear closer and closer to the character himself and at one point, i was having all of the enemies generated at my exact location, so no matter what i did, I was just dying continually with all these aliens popping out either right where i was standing or right infront of me, so i didn't have enough time to move out of the way...

Those images only work if there's enough bandwidth. Which most of the time, there isn't.

Screeny 2

Click on the above links to open a new window with the full-zised image in it (i did this to save on bandwidth/loading time, but feel free to view these pics...

Hmm, it appears that i can't hotlink to my site anymore... I wonder why? i have always been able to, and now even my sig image doesnt work... oh well..

[EDIT] My sig image is now working again, but the images aren't oh well [/EDIT]

Btw, i only just realised that there is music with your game and sound effects... The music is gnarly (cool) and the sound effects are funny... Great work...

Thanks. The music is from C:\I386. Just do a search on your computer for Wave Sound files. To find the ones I used search for WMPAUD. I don't think its copyright infringement because although I don't have the copyright to them, everyone who can play the game (windows users) owns the music themselves. They're pretty good little loops, actually.

heh, i got 65000 somethin, BEAT THAT! lol, yeah it ran flawlessly for me, I did however notice alot of lag if killed a very large group of enemies. it may be my system but who knows. I'm runnin an Athlon XP 1700 right now, with generic ATI graphics. But still the games lookin great!

Thanks a lot.

No way of getting rid of the lag there, I just hope its not noticeable on the judges computer.

Any ideas please post them.
I'm very open for suggestions (read: out of ideas myself)
