four questions:
1)which one is better?
2)does any of them suport particles?
3)how advance special FX can be set in those editors
(for example: weather effects like snow rain; splasch effects from
bullets hiting , explosions,)
4)what else can be dan if is possible

Dunno, never used any of them.

Although...

Both are getting huge overhauls as we speak, and it should be interesting. In my opionion, you can't go wrong with either one, just get too know it and you should be able to achieve some advanced effects.

I've used level maker 3D but I had some trouble with the first version (crashes, locks up)

Anyway, I never used MatEdit, but from what I read, it may be better at the moment- maybe at the matrix stuff. But on the other hand, LM3D has a wide selection of stuff to do, etc..

Level Maker 3D Version 2 is coming along nicely, should have it out by christmas. It is on the backburner while I finish my db editor, but it will come, and yes it will kick ass

DarkJack, what problems did you have?

Thanks

They are used for completely different things. MatEdit is better for outdoor stuff. LM3D CAN do outdoor stuff, but its geared more for indoor, not any hills and stuff.

Well, to answer your question, DarkRider. The problems for me were:

1( Lock-Up when I hit the "Save as .X" button
2( Crashes when I try to use the Texture Maker

Also, it crashs and locks up occasionally by itself for reasons unknown to me. Just so you know, I'm using a Dell with a Intel Celeron at 1993 MHz, with 256 MB Ram. Good luck on the new version. I'll try the new version when you finish with it

Cheers

I tried Matedit. It had some nice features, but was too awkward to use. The newer version looks like it will rock. I think the hold up is something to do with the limitation of the current DBpro.

I never tired Levermaker3D because the preview screen was not exciting. Stupid reason, I may give it a try.

Yeah, I should think the hold up is to do with a few major bugs in the current version of dbpro to do with matrices. But yeah, MatEdit Pro is looking rather nice .

Do you bite your thumb at me sir?
