i had my model done in 3ds max4 with character studio 3.1 biped applied to it.... i exported it to .3ds format but only the beginning frame is exported...... y? that is only the starting frame is there in the .3ds file .... so i get a no-animated .3ds file....

there is a plugin for 3DS that will export to .x files (with animation if set up correctly)... PandaSoft makes a exporter and so does Microsoft (i use pandasoft's)... you can get PS's by searching google for "pandasoft" and i think it is the first match...

there is a thread somewhere in this forum that shows the settings on how to set up the exporter so it works for animations...

Here's a tutorial made by Kensupen a while ago.

I've stuck it in my downloads folder, it's a .chm file ... so no need to stay online with it.

Hope it helps

Download the .CHM file >> here <<

Chm, how is your animation attached to the model?
As with the exporters you need to use the Character Studio Physiqué modifier to attach them rather than the standard enveloping.

maxplugins has alot of different formats a good few are supported by DBPro, check them all out as some work with standard Biped (Quake3 for example) whereas other like DirectX 8 require Physique...

another point is you can try chopping the model into sections and then exporting it as sections, you'll notice that 3ds will export that with biped (3ds doesn't support mesh deformation)
