Hi
I am making my levels in 3ds max. i am trying to texture them and then use them in DBP it texture fine in 3dsmax but when i try and load them into DBP i get can't load 3d objet error. i am exporting the model to X. i am using different material id's for each texture. and i have the texture in the same folder as the model.

does any one know why i can't get this to work. or do i have to use a different way to texture my models.

Thanks for any help

how i do it is... texture objects just by setting it up in the material editor... and drag-drop... set up corrent UV's... then export to X... and works fine for me...

might be the settings for the X file... or could be if your not selecting the objects correctly... havent worked on anything for awhile... but i think you have to select all objects... then use "export selected" for it to work

if that doesnt work... select a main object... then append all objects to that one... in essence to make it one object then "export selected"

well i tried that and still getting error.

the way i textured it is.
made it an editable mesh. changed the material id of the faces that i wanted a different texture. and then in the material editor i set up what texture went to what id. then drag and droped then exported.

am i doing something wrong here.
