Moondog's FREE 2D Media Packs
Welcome to my free 2D media thread. Here I'll be posting various packs containing sprite sheets of static/animated objects, scenery, vehicles, characters and sfx. Sprite sheets will be rendered in various perspectives; isometric, top and side views depending on type. All sprite sheets will be presented up too 4 resolution formats with alpha channel and 1 low resolution with color code(255,0,255) transparency. All for a low low price of $0.00! Enjoy!

Nice one Josh! Might be worth letting Lee Bamber know about this. He is collecting free media on the forum for inclusion with AppGameKit in future updates. With the authors permission of course.

Thanks. Updated with three more MP's. Will keep this updated as much as possible...well, when I'm not busy with work. I went through my collection of media, well over 1000+ models, plan to convert most of it to sprites.

I never came to grips with Truespace. I found the GUI a bit confusing. Maybe I should give it another chance. I use AC3D for the little modelling I do but it's very easy to use which is what I need.

I'm curious, which program(s) do you artists make your textures in?

I know this sounds like I'm complaining but I'm really not; You're really making me work to keep our resources page up to date!

Impressive doesn't quite describe it

I might like to use some of these sprites in some tutorials I'm doing if that's OK?

Go for it! The whole point of these sprites is to provide free media for 2d projects.

Last MP for the day, Asteroids Starter Kit. Enjoy!

Another added. Previews taken out for time and space purposes. Once I get to about 15 I'll be moving these to my site and only showing the 5 most recent.

Any more?
I need some more for my 2d game I'm making. Its a Si-Fi war game, like Supreme Commander but 2d.
I need some more Si-Fi Buildings, ships and maybe some sort of space tank or car.
I can do the rest.

Oh and how do you make them?

Fear Me if you will

Social Icons! These are a few icons I made a while back, nothing fancy. Thinking of making animated version if peps like them.

To keep things loading quickly I'm going to start posting a link in my post instead of updating the top page. Starting to stretch out the post quit a bit.

If anyone has requests post them here so I know what types of sprites everyone is looking for.

Awesome! I'll admit I haven't sifted through the news area lately. Thanks for the spotlight.

While I'm here, one more pack for everyone:

I edited my original sfx graphics so that they have a transparent background. Also a few more color variations. Enjoy!

Nice.

Bejewelled clones practically write themselves, so it's nice to have some original clean graphics to add that finishing touch.

I've never actually played a 'jewel' game, I just know there is a crap ton of them around. I'm going to make a few more shapes and grid spaces.

I was toying with the idea of doing a Boulderdash clone as the mechanics are pretty straight forward and I used to love playing it on the Commodore 64.

Then I found out the original producer is still around and filling the markets so it might not be such a good move.

Just make a better version and call it Rockdash.

I'll make some boulder style graphics next, that way you can work on one.

I was thinking BoulderRush, clearly on the same wavelength

That would be so cool

I don't think I'd get away with what I was using

I'm going to have some free time soon so I'll be able to pick this up again. I've hit over 1200 downloads which is pretty cool.

I seem to have a backlog of requests too, I blame Keith for that.

If anyone has some ideas for graphics, let me know.
