I have a few lightmap export options from MAX, what kind of file should it be to append to a .x/.3ds level in DBP? And what's the code to load the lightmap and append it?

Well a light map is like a bump map, just another image file. Just load the image and use the image number as follows...

SET LIGHT MAPPING ON Object Number, Image Number

@Quoth
ive been working with lightmaps in MAX as well, however, im not getting anywhere near desired results when viewing an object in the perspective window, it looks good, lighting looks good... but when ever i try to save the lightmap... it doesnt look anything like the perspective window...

lets say i have a light pointing directly at a wall... in the perspective window it looks good with center bright and fading off around the edges... when i save the lightmap, the center is all white, and there is no fading, its just white and black... when loaded into DBP only the center part of the lighted area is visible, only a small circle...

is there some kind of setting that i can change... or how do you set it up that a lightmap will look more like the perspective window in MAX?
