DEMO V0.2

Warning: Demo may contain language that's offensive to some.
It was a lot of work getting that overhaul done, but I think worth it. It still needs work, but it's at a stage where I think it might be useful to get feedback and also it's in a state where it's playable and hopefully enjoyable and challenging without being too challenging.
What's missing from this version?
Enemy animations.
Boss Mesh (kind of had a fight with my 3D app over this

)
Particle Animations (am using same system as last demo)
Sound Effects
Issues/Things I know about:
-Funky light changes on chat/transition/inventory
-The size of the select 'button', I forgot to change that before I zipped everything up
-An idiotic typo
Things you should know:
-800x600 is the minimal playable setting, but I recommend 1024x768 or higher (though you can go lower than 800x600, so I'll need to put a cap in a future release)
-The default setting is: 800x600x32, windowed and no shadows. If you'd rather play at a different setting, change them from the options menu.
-Dynamic Shadows not recommended for low spec computers
YOU DO NOT NEED PHYSX DRIVERS FOR THIS DEMO
I took PhysX out of this demo, so you won't need them.
How to Play:
Controls:
Arrow Keys - move
Return - action
Space - cancel
'i' - inventory
Esc - quit (DBP default)
'1' - '6' - select threshold (inventory menu and battle)
To change a Threshold in battle your ATB must be full.
1 = Curse, 2 = Blood, 3 = Frantic, 4 = Nerve, 5 = Fear, 6 = Empowerment.
The idea is to defeat the enemies and each will offer some kind of hit on how to defeat the boss at the end. Thresholds are useful in battle for making the player stronger in certain ways. There's explanations at the beginning of the thread.
Working out an enemy's threshold should be easy in this demo because I've given the enemies obvious names.
Also, there's 2 hidden items, the game will have various hidden items across different maps, so always be sure to scout the scene. If you miss any, there will be an option to revisit a scene in the full game.
The aim will be to have the gameplay challenging so strategy becomes important - at lower levels you have less of a choice as to what you can do, but as you learn more abilities you ought to be more flexible in battle. In this demo you will learn 2 abilities. I've been nice and given 2 swords and 2 guns, the default ones will be the ones you'll start with. The others are for demonstration purposes and you will collect them a little later on.

[Edit]
I just played through on Trigger Finger and found it to be difficult. I can imagine Shadower and Tormentor will be even harder (given the higher levelled enemies). Whisperer and Psychopath may be the easiest to complete the level on. But then I did want the classes to vary in difficulty.
However, if you're struggling to complete it, here is a little walkthrough...but please do try to complete it with the challenge left in.
Conserve your items. I lost to Jor on Trigger Finger because I overused my items.
Look around. There's 2 hidden items, the Notts hint at them, but look for them. There's a 'Psycho' ability, this ability is really useful because it allows you to restore your health, regardless of what class you chose. The other is a 'Clear Mind', which gives you the benefits of ALL Thresholds. Especially useful against Jor.
Working out Jor's weakness: He's a fairly tough boss, I personally found him easy on Psychopath because I knew his weaknesses. But Psychopath is the strongest against him, so other classes may struggle, even in knowing his weakness. I might make him a little weaker in a future release, but I will emphasise I want the game to be a challenge. ;)
The answers to the clues/translation:
Ek Heitir Jor
-> I am called Jor
Þeir eru nóttinn
-> they the night
Þú átti margar orrustur með Nóttinn. Vápn bÃta ekki á mik.
->You have fought many of the Night (Notts). Weapons will not bite me. (Vapn bita = weapon bits, ekki = not. So swords and guns are useless)
Hlaupr ok geðinn er gœðalauss.
-> Running and the mind are useless ('Halupr' is for cowards and 'geð' is the mind and 'gœðalauss.' is useless.)
In other words, don't bother using cower, cower's purpose is to defend whilst you work out an enemy's weakness. Because the boss's weakness isn't a Threshold match and he doesn't use anything that'll give his threshold away, it's useless. Using your mind-based attacks, or 'Neuro' is a waste of concentration. The reason is because the Psycho ability you learn is vastly important. Jor hits hard, meaning you'll need to keep your Health up, for the damage Hex deals it's not worth the concentration. Also, 'Leech' and 'Draw Blood' are Jor's weakness, therefore EITHER the Blood Threshold will give you a nice boost OR Lucid Threshold if you find the 'Clear Mind'.
So in short:
-Reserve meds, therefore try not to use too much concentration
-Find the Psycho ability (Leech or Draw Blood)
-Find 'Clear Mind', if you can't then use 'Blood Threshold' against Jor
-Spam your Psycho ability until Jor dies. The more Stamina and focus you have, the better. I entered the fight with only 1 stamina and 1 focus, and as soon as I ran out of Concentration after the first focus, I was boned.
