When using GetTextInput(), rather than the text input field being in the centre of the app, is there a way of positioning it where I want it to be?.

There don't appear to be any commands or settings to change this at the moment. You could put it in as a feature request?

We have added such command(s) for build 107. You can thank Mike at TGC for this early addition as he simply would not let the matter rest. We have a host of text related features going in, and positioning the text entry with a nice cursor and expected functionality of an edit box are amongst them.
