You could do worse than JTEdit, I think it's about one of the best and feature filled free modellers available. If you can't get to grips with that, there's always milkshape, which does pretty much everything you need to get started, it's easy to learn and is unparralled in it's online support and tutorial resources. Milkshape is about £20.

I strongly suggest that you cut your teeth on limbed animation before trying boned animation. Basically, a limbed model is like an action figure, with the arm being in 2 bits, the leg being in 2 bits etc, the limbs are linked together and animated by rotating limbs. This is fairly easy to get into, and there's always help on this forum when you need it. Boned animation is like a Stretch Armstrong doll, like a skeleton with a mesh form around it, the vertices are assigned to bones and the model is animated by rotating and moving it's bones, the actual animation process is pretty much identical, it's the setting up that is more difficult with boned animations.

you have Milkshape and you dont know what it does?
That means that you were not looking even at their home page...

Isnt it bit lazzy just to go to this forum and ask people question? You and lot of other people asking questions here should firsth try to read technical manuals and help for products they wana use prior to ask something becouse thats for what manuals and help is...

...yes of course that requires some efort and time to go through it.

To ask question like:
Quote: "need help using limbs because i really have no idea where to start"
is like asking:
Quote: "Please tell me hove to paint, since I have no idea about it and its sooo frustrating..."
...thats not something somebody can answer you in few lines at forum such a this one.

So my answer is: Start with manuals and help files, go to Milkshape home site and look there for tutorials. I recomend you to look at DB (not DBpro) help to find out hove limb and animation commands works and what for they are. DB have wery good help, better than DBpro and since most DB commands are same or wery similar in DBpro its good idea to look there. It includes also examples of everything so you can look inside of code, which is ofthen the best way of learning something.
Second step would be then to try all you find there and play with buttons and commands to see what they can do for you.
And only then if you find yourself in trouble by having something not working for you, you can come to forum here and ask...

Stop be lazzy!

I'll cut anyone a little slack if they post in a second or third language. What's the main language in Slovakia?

Cornelius Itchy>>> OK exuse me for that firsth part of my post then. Still read that second one ...can be of some help to you.
And that idiot you can keep for yourself ...you dont know what limb is... I am not a native English speaker as you might see.

...but reading what is writen under each of your posts, I might reconsider that idiot as a compliment from you.

Hamish McHaggis>>> thanks mate, perhaps we both have taken it wrong way

zircher>>> I will probably not surprise you if I say that main language in Slovakia is Slovak why? are you interesting in learning it a bit?

Just some Slovakian swear words - It's always nice to insult someone in a foreign language.
