I'm banned... I could change my IP again, but don't see the point.
I made a single post and now I'm banned again.

No warning, No explaination, just banned.
You guys want to know why I hate RGT so much it's because of bastard behaviour like that.

And before ya'll start with "ohh your post must've been bad"
go read it for yourself, just a pathetic bunch of bastards if you ask me and i'm getting extremely sick and tired of the entire attitude.

Hey Raven there's news.
You're not banned.
RGT is dead.

I think he's talking about LLRGT.

The moderators there aren't exactly indifferent. They do not have a company to keep up, so they can enforce their own opinions a bit more strongly on the forums.

Raven a link please?

Before I read it let me say that I'd be shocked if I find anything offensive in what you say Raven. I know that we don't agree on very much, but I do enjoy your presence on the boards.

Quite a useful post in my opinion. If you were banned for that, then those guys really are bastards.

Honestly, eversince I was a lurker, I always saw Raven as one of the l337 people in the forum. I don't see why people don't get along very well with him.

I could start a list of things wrong with some individuals in that place, but in the mix of people theres some very good people and it helps not to even read the silly nonsense replies some posts get or you wanna correct them.
Its troll bait, happens here also but in less of a degree.
That in itself is a big mistake or you open a kettle of nooby worms on yourself, icky icky. ego instead of information.

A lot of them wont join here because of raven. its like chewing off your nose to spite your face if you ask me.
Ive had my run ins with raven but at the end of the day hes toned down a lot and actually posted usefull comments in some regards, And hes actually been correct in some regards and incorrect in others. Im sure we all make mistakes or else your deluding yourself.

I dont hold a grudge forever and a day and you should avoid people who dont grow and get over it.
I couldnt be bothered to argue most points anymore, its a waist of time to do so.
I could rip into every stupid post i see but its negative and doesnt really help anyone in the long run.

Mis information is rife in both forums sometimes unless you just test it yourself if you have the means.

The best thing you can do is just get on with your projects and when your finished show people how far you have come with your skills.

the rest is politics and ruins the adventure and fun of coding and media creation.

Theres a lot of good people around and they may use different forums for technical and political reasons but if your cranky to start with then your a waist of your own time as well as everyone elses.

There are two things that particularly hacked me off about it.
a) There wasn't a reason for it
b) When your banned you can't even view the forum

i mean i only joined again because i was asked to by one of the users, saw a post where i could help and did so.
really getting completely sick and tired of how i'm being treated on the whole atm ... just hope Rich gets that ignore use thing up and running soon, can't wait for alot of people to strike me from thier views and leave me alone once and for all.

Blivvy's reply to the question why Raven was banned:
Quote: " Any bans from RGT have been carried over to here. There are no 'buts' about it, the decision will not be undone."

Although I couldn't care less why and where Raven is banned or not, I guess this decision was made 'cause a lot of people said they prefer LLRGT because Raven doesn't (can't) post there.

When I noticed you'd joined, I assumed that they'd decided to start afresh, I mean LLRGT is completely new IMO and people should see it as a new forum.

Basically LLRGT is not as strong a community as it was because there's not enough traffic, Raven's posts would have livend things up a bit. I hardly ever visit nowadays, there's little point when you can go 3 hours without someone making a post, this forum feels more like home these days, and this from someone who had the 5th highest post count at RGT.

RGT's daddy left without so much as a goodbye, so I reckon Danny and his band of mods should have a user amnesty, a clean sheet for all users.

Sound more like a grudge. Shame.

It's been said earlier in the topic, now RGT is no longer representing a company, the mod's own views seem to be taking priority.

What did raven do to get banned anyway?!? It was sooo long ago I can't remember (I can back from holiday and he was gone)

Better luck next time.

the reason was very clear, and it had nothing to do with your post. It's not a grudge, it's was just a simple choice.
plus, LLRGT is still a linear continuum of original RGT, although "un-official". Stand-in (temporary) place for the community there. So the bans were continued too, to maintain the same "athmosphere".

Raven,
Why would you want to post there anyway? I've only ever heard bad comments from you about RGT. Sure, your post was meant to be helpful, but how long do you think it would be before the flaming would begin? Even if the flames wouldn't have started from you, there are a lot of people there that love to hate you. You just being there would have caused a flamewar. It wouldn't have even been a matter of time, I bet that it would have started in the topic that you posted in.
I don't hate you Raven. Sure, I pick on you, but I don't hate you. I could care less if you were alowed to post on RGT or not. There are people that will not come here though just because of you. Sure, that is a bit silly but never the less... it is true.
I'm not offering you advice or anything but there are many reasons why people don't get along with you. If you want to get along with people better, maybe you should tone it down another notch (I think you have a bit already). The thing that annoys me about you is how you think that you are an expert with EVERYTHING. There are things that you have obviouly have only dabbled in, yet you think you know it completely inside out. When someone offers a more educated response that differs from your oppinion, you'll argue endlessly that they are wrong and do so very arrogantly. It isn't because you are actually correct, it is because you can't admit that you are wrong. When you do have usefull information to post, it makes people reluctant to believe you.
No one here is perfect. I certainly am not, but then again I make no claims to be. If I could Raven, I would buy you a drink.

Well I'm kinda 60-40 against the ban. So I agree with not banning Raven for no reason. But if LLRGT is a continuation of RGT I suppose it makes sense 60-40 for the ban. Now I am confused!

That dosn't help the moderators. If Raven was alowed there it would be nothing but flamewars. Even if Raven was on his BEST behavior and didn't retaliate, him just being there would cause chaos. Not worth it IMHO

Bans carried on from the old forum are kept, as they said there. I don't see anything criminal about that. But they should have informed Raven via e-mail at least.

@Raven

That'll teach you to wind people up the wrong way in the first place. That first ban was earned, although the second was arguably unfair. I think at one point you came close to being banned here. Look on the bright side. At least there is this forum. Fortunately you haven't had any run-ins recently so you can stick around here.

The old bans from RGT did carry over. Unfortunantly due to many of your past actions Raven there are a number of people whom have come to RGT in order to get away from you. The good of the community must come first in all cases. I would be banned if I had acted as you used to even though I am an admin.

Sorry the decision will not be done because to do that would break the rules us mods have set down for ourselves.

To those people here questioning our right to keep the community as the community wants thats your call. I simply ask you to keep an open mind and not fall in one camp or another. LLRGT is not a place where we like banning people or modding the heck out of everything but it is a place where respect is paramount.

Ashron you seem to have a very vineaur view of RGT, i might not have posted but i still kept up with the current events there because some people don't post here or other forums ... and don't give me the tag that it's because of me. As some of the better developers on that site are people that i've never seen or spoken to here to elsewhere.

The original ban had nothing to do with the forums though, and a simple apology on my part would've solved the issue. And after a bit of cooling off I was going to, but then what happened with my brother was inexcuseable.

RGT has always been a very elitest atmosphere, one where the more you suck-up and are all like "super-great work" to the right people and you still get enough respect. People don't seem to want to hear the truth, funny thing is i'm sure quite a few other may have noticed that there are a few users there who are just as bad if not worse than i ever was. Guess you can get away with more if your mates with the admin though ... i mean thoughout the whole 'Simple' stuff it was definately more about the grudge between me and Guy rather than it being able the complaints everyone was lodging against me. The offline chat made that painfully clear to me, was annoying to know that Simple could have done close to whatever he liked and i would've always been in the wrong.

Well...don't play the victim too much, Raven. You more than earned your ban from RGT

It's not like they randomly chose to pick on you out of the blue. You had been warned repeatedly and many RGT users had complained about your posting habits. In the name of overall peace you were banned from RGT -and it worked!.

You were banned from a privately owned bulletin board that is no longer directly affiliated with TGC, it's not the end of the world. In fact you should be thrilled that so many people dislike you so much - you've had a real lasting effect on them You've touched so many lives...just like Roma Downey!

Simple was not treated any differently then you were. We have spoken with him in the past. As for the elitist attitude and sucking up to the mods you mention, such is compleat falsehood. There are a number of people whom try to suck up in every possible way but still get told off in the end for their actions.

As for your brother I have always felt bad about that one but unfortunantly he got caught up in a way where on the old RGT we could not tell if he was or was not you. Your message to GuyS rather than explaining the issue was a massive flame. In this way it made it impossible for me to work on the issue farther due to various levels of immaturity involved.

I'm not saying that when the admins are mistaken you can't get angry but there are certaintly ways to deal with things in a more mature way. Many users have contacted us over the years when we make mistakes and always have we considered their views and corrected the action accordingly.

I agree with KNau here. It's not a big deal, and the ban did have a good reason behind it. There are plenty of other means to keep in contact with programmers who hang around there without annoying others.

Perhaps they should have been carried over in a less reactionary way.

If you are actually going to carry the bans over carry them over insted of waiting for people that where banned to post before banning them again.
