Well so me man my bro play minecraft and we play at the same house so i usally run the server on the computer that is WIRED to the internet.

Well i havent played on our own server in maby a month and now i tried to play with him again and he cant connect i went on to a website and they could not get in my port. even thought before we could play so obviusoly it was open.

i never rember having a static ip address but my ip address never changed so how can i get it back so we can play.

Wire each computer into the router (or wireless, but I'm not as sure with that) and connect using a LAN IP, you'll save some much trouble. If that's not ideal, I find Hamachi solves a lot of problems when you want to run a server without dealing with port forwarding.

yeah hamachi works great, though wiring them through the router should work

These are, of course, the Minecraft forums.

Anyway, check that you have the latest version of the server from minecraft.net, and that your firewall is configured to allow connections to port 25565.

Check whether you have the correct IP address. You never know, could be dynamic?
