The physics are all and nice but there is one more command. I would want agk to have a physics command that detects the other objects by layer. Or have a command that detects if the sprite is on a certain layer.

Example: let say you want to create a bullet from physics. I would want it go threw some objects because it is not on the same layer and or other objects it hits.

Nice idea.

Then you could have one set of objects using physics to interact with each other in the background, while not affecting physics objects in the foreground.

You could use the box2d category commands to do this, set each layer to a separate category and then set the bullet to only collide with certain categories.
