Pretty much a staple of the Ball Drop as I was growing up. Glad he could finish his 40th New Years with it. RIP Dick...

Though remembered lately for "New Years Rockin Eve" and "Ball Drop" affairs, I think of him mostly associated with American Bandstand, back when they made real music.

Rock On, bud!

Thanks for the link xplosys. Those were fond memories back in the fifties and sixties when I would come home from school and watch American Bandstand. To listen to all those great songs and get to see the guest singers/groups. To watch my peers dance and dream about being on that show.

British telly had a version of this I believe and I used to remember it's name. I also think the Dave Clark had a show later on that was dedicated to that era?

Most everybody in the USA knows Dick Clark as the oldest teenager that has ever lived.

And yes, basically, he was able to juggle records (from the record slot to the turntable).
