This is literally driving me insane trying to figure it out, so I thought I would try my luck and see if anyone had an answer here.

I am streaming live video of games and I want certain sounds to be left out of the stream. I want the game sound to be sent, but not others, such as ventrilo and my own mic.

Software I have for this is Virtual Audio Cable and I am using xsplit to broadcast the stream.

How do I go about removing ventrilo's sound from the stream, but at the same time allowing me to still listen to what ventrilo is outputting?

I would, but I don't have another computer to do so. I bought VAC so I could extract the ventrilo sound and not have it broadcast in the stream, but allowing me to still hear it.

This is really really strange.

I was trying to do the exact same thing only a couple of days ago!
(My friend's computer is broken, so I was streaming Guild Wars 2 to him over skype).
EDIT - Old Version

Edit: I've come up with a better solution.

Create 2 virtual cables with VAC.

In Windows playback devices:
Set Line 1 as the default device
Set Line 2 as the default communications device

In XSplit:
Mute game sounds
In Settings, set the microphone as Line 1 (From VAC)

In Vent:
Set the output as Line 2

In VAC:
Output Your microphone to Line 1
Output Line 1 and Line 2 to your speakers

That should work.

That kind of worked, but also never :\

I got a progressive loop when I output line 1 and 2 to my headset.
I could hear vent, but I could not hear any thing else.

I'm kind of annoyed that this isn't working as I want it to, thought it would be a lot simpler than this.
