Why EA, why?
Who remembers MoH Frontline?

Open it in another tab while reading this. (Dramatic Effect)

That game was one of the best WW2 shooters I've ever played, and a big part of my childhood. I loved all the WW2 MoH games. Who wouldn't? They were all amazing. Now they're all modern. I have nothing against modern games, but it doesn't feel like MoH. That's not the MoH I grew up with. It just seems like they don't care anymore. It's all about the best graphics and trailers so you can get your money and do it again next year. Sure Airborne wasn't the best, but why throw in the towel then?

I'd much rather have this:

What are your feelings?

MOH Airborne could have been a lot better, but it still had its good moments. I loved the slow-mo haha.

Heck they should do more re-makes of the originals and put them on PC.
I'd buy every single one.

I liked the original. Admittedly I've not played any since, I take it I'm not missing anything?

I love all of the MoH's even the new ones. Including Airborne, which was one of the best for me... The new one was amazing too, but of course it's a matter of opinion.

The Omaha beach landing scene in the original MoH, though dated now, was one of the greatest moments in game history for me. Up until that point, games had always been games. When I crouched behind the tank traps on the sands of Omaha, I was actually in a movie ... or better yet ... I was actually there. It was immense.

MoH doesn't feature as one of my favourite games, but I'm pretty sure gaming has all been downhill from there for me. That was the hay day. But I don't know if that's cos I'm old, or cos the games industry has nowhere else to go gameplay wise.

Yeah, Omaha beach practically dragged me into war FPS games - before that I never really bothered, but that first level just drags you in. It's a shame the rest of the missions never got back to that level of awesome.

I remember playing the Xbox MOH's and enjoying them - 2 player split screen can make a big difference. But MOH is a tired franchise, I'm not sure there's room for it these days. They could have some dignity, and try and go back to the realism that got us into the games in the first place, gritty world war 2 action. Instead, all I see is another COD rip-off.

In my twisted little mind, I don't think any war FPS can compete with BF3... I would happily buy and play a gritty MOH style shooter, but that won't happen, +10 for a kill!, ain't war hell. We have modern combat FPS games with decent realism, I don't see why WWII should be left behind - it's a helluva lot more accesible and understood than some of the mindless drivel modern FPS games call a plot.

The only MOH i've enjoyed was Rising Sun and it's still a favorite. I don't mind buying it again. I just got tired of the same old Nazi thing. Fighting the Japanese military in a game was refreshing those times for me.

I got the 2010 Medal of Honor and I'd say I got my moneys worth. I'll be getting the new one this year, too. SASR ftw!

I do prefer WW2 games though, just awesome!

I don't think there's anything wrong with the modern MoH games, probably makes sense that they would go modern, just like CoD and BF.

The 90s and early 00s had so many WW2 shooters and most of it's been done, now everyone is cashing in on the modern era.

Red Orchestra 2?

If anything, the Medal of Honor game (2010) is more like BF than CoD.

Now that I can agree on! Best FPS ever. Besides MAG of course

How come? Don't get me wrong, Frontlines was one of my favourite games and I installed it when I got Medal of Honor 2010 and... well it sucked. Shoddy gameplay, shoddy graphics... just wasn't very fun for me. The new Medal of Honor is much better and I don't think it's that great, nothing wrong with it though.

WW2 is the best theatre for any combat game. Why? So many reasons:
- It spans half the globe, from the deserts of Africa, to the Jungles of Austrailia, to the fields/woods/cities of Europe, to the mountains of Norway etc.
- The technology was so vast and varied, yet restricted by tangible practical limits (excluding the final A-bomb), which forces ground conflict without you asking "Why didn't they just send in a cruise missile?"
- While both sides were human, one core part of one size (Nazis) were as close to the definition of evil as you can get. They truly deserved your wrath. Modern conflict against Arabs put a false spin on things. No modern conflict has such a clear quest for the defeat of evil.
- The sides were so well balanced that the war could've been won by anybody.
- All the planes, weapons and vehicles had character
- There is a rich history of real conflicts we can relate to and be inspired by, rather than made up scenarios.

The list goes on. I too agree WW2 and Nazis was overdone back in the MOH and original COD days, but now it's time to revisit it, I think. I'm ready for a new truly epic WW2.

to be fair? I quite did enjoy the beta of MoH MP, however, since i already own MW2 i see no point in buying it..
But it was actually very enjoyable imo, the unlockables was, in the beta, SOOO slow it wasnt even funny. Either have unlockables at a decent rate or just give me all at once imo :I

Anyway, it was very enjoyable MP shooter atleast, never did buy it.. scared to buy it now since the MP might be dead?

The result of origin.. Oh and ponies

I never played any of the console versions of MoH, but I played all the PC versions up to and including MoH Pacific (my PC was never powerfull enough to play Airborne, it's a dinosaur!).

Even now I still occasionally dig them out for a quick play.

TBH, I think, had they stuck with the WW2 theme, they'd have been left even further behind. They had to go down the same route as CoD and BF, because that's where the money was. That's business for you...

There needs to be a World War 1 game... But World War 2 is nice too... My first FPS was MOH Frontline, and I can swear to you that the first mission of that game was the most incredible gaming experience to ever come to PS2. They seriously need to reinvent that scenario with modern hardware for PC. I can tell you that would be absolutely INCREDIBLE to experience the Normandy landing like that again. But the rest of the game was awesome too. My next one was Rising Sun. Not too big on that one, but the first mission was pretty cool, being Pearl Harbor and all. Though MOH Pacific Assault did a better job at recreating it. Though, when it comes to great PS1 shooters, MOH was pretty awesome, but I still haven't beat it.. I'm on the undercover mission on the U-Boat, trying to get past the security without dying... It's so hard to do on the PS3. MOH (2010), Though, has, in my opinion, the best campaign of all the shooters of the time, It just captured my attention. Multiplayer? Not so much. BF3 has them all beat in Multiplayer, in my opinion. Though, I'm a strict BF and MOH fan. I used to have MW2 and still have WoW and COD4, COD4 for an occasional multiplayer session for when I'm bored, and WoW for Zombies. When I really wanna play some epic multiplayer, I go Battlefield. I can't wait for MOHWF, though.

Me and my friend loved Rising Sun's 2 player Co-op. But the second disc was messed up so we never finished it

I've been thinking about that for many years. If only "someone" would attempt it. I'm pretty much saying that isn't a bad idea for those FPSC/ DB Pro/Dark GDK owners here to do.

Sorry, true. I meant the fighting of the Aussies and Japanese in Papua New Guinea.
