It looks cool, modern, and sleek. I like it! Though, it takes some getting used to from the old one.

Ehh... I can't say I like it, but I don't spend much time on the actual TGC website, so it's not important to me.

I think the sub menus were a little awkward on Firefox, but I think it's an improvement on the design - nice, simple and easy to follow. Would be interesting to see if they update the forum too. I know some folk have asked for new features in the past (in fact, I think there have been many threads over the years ) Also, the 'forums' button is in clear view, so who knows, it may attract people to click on it and boost our numbers here.

By advertising FPSC as game making for Teens they just lost a shedload of future sales, it even puts me off. Makes me think I should go for a more adult game creation software.

Believe it or not I actually feel insulted now....

Maybe I should join all the grown up DBP users around here or even better move onto playing with the even bigger boys over at the UDK playground.

Awesome! Its one of those threads.

That irked me a little too, considering it carries a North American M rating O_o

Well, I guess 17+ is still technically teen.

I know what your trying to say but its not just for beginners, that might be true for entry level to an extent but as a long time user who puts more than just stock into my work I really believe it could be better advertised than either of these.
Anyone who thinks they are going to create a game the way they want it to be knows it takes a lot of skill and time learning this software and its quirks to get desired results.

There are users of this software who are neither beginners or teens, in fact its the older guy's among us, with some skills , who make it look usable in the first place.

Awesome! Its one of those threads.

And Foxes. Don't forget the Foxes. They have skill, and certainly are not teens or beginners.

It is what it is. We saw it too, and chuckled. We use the engine, made good money off some developments, and know we are not teens. Obviously it is either a marketing thing, or someone assumed only teens use it. Mind you, considering some of the conversations...

Anyways, nice site. Change is a good thing now and again.

My thoughts exactly, I'm certainly no teen but still enjoy FPSC for it's ease of use. Might want to rethink that one.

It's nice! But i gotta agree with rolfy! Insulting it is!

So, anyway; they really should change the news section, it's now... to chaotic (In combination with the new layout, it had more contrast against the old layout.) + I think the newsletters give TGC that extra boost as "game making community" where things get summed up at the end of the month. Now it is ... just .... a blog.... ... making it a static copy of the forum? Anyone?

So yeah, the overall design is pretty nice though.

PS: Didn't found a logout button on the main page. But who in earth would want to log out from TGC (addiction to the max!)?

EDIT2: When you logout from TGC Forum u get redirected to the main page and I see the old yellow bar at the top of the page. You guys are still developing and refining, but I thought I would just say it.

Cheers,

Nice look, but loads of problems;

Including having to type this twice, because the window closed on me when I tried to post (I've saved the text this time!)

Drop-downs are confusing and hard to select "share" sometimes produces another drop-down, sometimes another "share" button (that does nothing).

Page with images on left has nothing on right and all text at the bottom (this could be that I use Ghostery - who doesn't?)

Log in to forum to post this, from the forum and I am returned to "gallery" page (with no text).

& there's more...

Sorry and all that.

NST - not to be funny... but is it too difficult for you to go into settings in your browser and disable cookies?

A session is a cookie where no expiry date is set, so it expires when the browser is closed, a 'general cookie' is a cookie with an expiry date, so it expires, well, on the date. That's the only difference.

I guess browsers have the option to reject cookies with no expiry date. xD

Forcing a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5) fixed these issues for me in Firefox.

It would seem the new site has some legacy filename sharing with the old site. Clearing your cache or forcing a hard refresh should clear this up.

Other than that Site works well and I like it, Good Job my friends!

Cheers!

Confirmed. This works for me too. The drop down menus function properly for me now.

[edit]

Tested on iOS - it works, except the only issue is that the YouTube video for 3D Game Maker centres on my screen and sits on top of everything, even when I scroll down. I've cleared my cookies but it does not get rid of it.

OMG, it's so like, incredibly, like, amazingly, so, like ... NO.

WARNING: The following post contains opinions that may offend sensitive readers. Reader discretion is advised.

The menu's are a little sleeker in look, granted. But everything else sux. Forgive me if I re-itterate anything stated already, but here's my dislikes:

1)I don't like this faw kidz mentawity ("for kids" mentality) as it's misleading - this includes "for teens" btw.

2)I really HATE the massive slideshow across 3/4 of my display! Why are so many sites doing this. A static logo with a small slideshow along the top or bottom is just as good (although I'd rather not have the slideshow but, well, hey).

3)Don't like floating menus. Menus should stay at the top of the page, not follow me as I scroll down.

4)Sorry, I just saw the "Game Making for Kids" logo again. It looks terrible. I'm going to throw up.

5)The categorization of everything is kinda, ... yeah. It sucks okay! I preferred the old product menu - although admittedly it needed to be tweaked a little. This new one makes it harder to find anything.

6) Loading speed sux for people with bad connections. It seems to take longer to load the home page than but I'll stand corrected.

7) It seems to be aesthetically geared towards the masses (Okay, I get, it, marketing, tgc is a business... But aaaaah!). Seriously, just looks like all big and flashy.

8) [EDIT]Misunderstanding, IGNORE this point. I stupidly got the promotional thing mixed up with the other thing and poured that into the first thing and put it in a blender.... [/EDIT] It caused the product's to all go up in price. At least I assume it's why they went up. "There is no such thing as coincidence".

9) Overall, the look's too frantic and busy.

Okay, done being a hater. I swear, I'm not trolling here, but seriously, the new look is horrible. It follows popular web trends too much. But hey, I'm just an opinion. In a business it's the majority that counts right? So I'm not saying "trash it" or "it's bad". I'm just saying that I don't like it. The old look was simple and not over-the-top. I would have preferred it to be even more minimalistic and compact truth be told. So, please don't anyone at TGC take offense, I'm an original little snowflake and I prolly represent the vast minority (except where "game making for minors" is concerned).

I offer a prayer now to the Cyber God to please never let the layout of the forums change.

"Change is bad unless it's in your pocket"
