Thanks Valentine for puting the video up in this way, also we done best here to get good voice actor.
The ship was created in about 50 hours by one person, also the stuff that i didn't mention is that ship is created completely in UDK. So we have pretty talented guys here in team.

Pictures of the ship :

more than welcome and WHOA I like the ship... a lot... can even go as far as saying better than that tiny ship in dissapointing Mass Effect lol

You better make this game good or else I will blow your ship out of the erm universe...

TIP in code snippet:

Also the music sounds almost original... is it or are you using stock media for the time being?

I would suggest if you can get the finance, get a music composer on board and use a real orchestra for that extra edge! maybe even go for an opera concerto with vocals and orchestra...

Ship in Mass Effect, nah, it's too bad for our Volatere Thanks again for good comment about the ship, we all like it.
We're working really hard because this game have a lot of potential, and we must use it. You'll see what i'm talking about around september, when we're going to publish another trailer that will show the gameplay sequences of the game.
Thanks for the tip, i always wanted to know how to do that lol.
It's our own music, we have awesome music composer named Jack.
The finance is always the problem for the indie studios, but i think we can get amazing results from Jack. We have a lot of amazing soundtracks.

We actually have the beta that was published few months ago. Practically it's not beta from the team, only one guy worked on it when the team wasn't formed yet.

Free publicity FTW!
Hey you changed the video.
Well in the old video I was surprised by the "Arabian" sound of the music, is this a theme for all the music in the game?

I been busy with studying lately but I should be able to upload a few cleaner versions of that music you wanted over the next few days.

Is that model actually going to be in the game? It looks incredible! Is that ZBrush? [edit]Yes I see it IS ZBrush[/edit]

I had done some recording but I'm having trouble getting a professional sound out of my keyboard. I will have another go tonight and maybe see if I can get to grips with some music software, that might produce a better sound.

Many thanks man, we're really pushing ourselves to achieve best with our demo that is coming out in late september.
Also the demo version for now will be translated to five languages and they are : DUTCH, SPANISH, GERMAN, TURKISH, CROATIAN&BOSNIAN and of course the default ENGLISH version.
There will be many new cool stuff soon.

Guys,

Here's an update on Design Philosophy behind Descension. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Decension strives to be a game of choices. Choices with consequences, and a continuity of experience. This means that your game save does not allow you to backtrack without starting a completely new character,
but it also means there is no such thing as game-over. How can we try such an innovative feature and break the standard mould so completely? With difficulty. The short answer is that we have made it so that while in most combat situations you can die, dying is not the end. We have tied this directly into the storyline, and given it a plausible background. This feature was not thrown in as an afterthought, and it integrates well with the lore and universe of Descension. We hope it provides a unique twist to the standard formula.

Another compelling feature of Descension is our choice to create a fluid RPG class system enabling the player to choose amongst a variety of skills and abilities and mix and match to their hearts content. While these skills fall under the typical Gameplay Archetypes of Soldier, Mage, and Assassin, what makes our design unique is our variations on these standard classes. So for example, while we do have a Mage, unlike typical mages he is a brawler and Melee strong class, preferring the in close attacks over ranged abilities.

Also there are some pictures of the levels in progress :

Storage room level :

Tram Station Level :

The storage room looks quite nice and well-polished. The tram station looks like it's more of a work-in-progress. I think the tram station needs a bit more color, especially after the nice blueish color palette created by the storage room.

Both levels are in pretty WIP progress, so there is still a lot of more to do. We worked much more on the Storage room then on Tram station so the diffrence is obvious.
Both levels will have diffrent colors and lighting, we still didn't came to the point of mixing up the colors, that's on the plan when we finish design with assets.
Thanks for comment, more great pictures coming soon, you can see one down, it's our character Traevan.

Wow you guys are really professional.
I have an update of the music but I'm almost embarrassed to post it. I bought a new adapter but there is still some crackling, maybe I have to replace the cable as well?
This is really just practice at editing but I thought I'd share it as I have been silent for a while. It is simply two tracks layered together.
I will continue working on this and improving my editing and composing skills.
How long until the release date?

Shh... you're pretty.

We're trying to be as much as it is possible to be professional, talented team we have
It's good Bese, some of your songs will probably be on the track. We'll discuss that more in future.
We're hoping to have the demo version of game at end of this month, but we can't promise anything. So we'll have playable and probably public demo at the end of this, or in the next month.
The final release is way far, it's sometimes next year. We're not sure when will it be as we don't know how will public react to demo and how much funding we'll have in the end.

Traeven LIVES model created by Ofek Maymoni. He is currently in the process of being rigged.

For a bit of fun and practice I tried making an eighties action-movie style version of my Descension music:
[soundcloud]oli-burt/silverlight-goofy-sax[/soundcloud]

Sorry I am taking so long to come up with anything good quality. I don't know why I'm getting these crackling noises in the recording. I honestly don't know if I will be able to make something good enough with what I'm doing now.

Where can I learn more about the game's narrative?

I guess you're correct at that one, probably because of green material and it doesn't fit really well. We'll look at other possibilites.

You are making great progress, there's a lot of detail in these scenes.
I made a new piece of music and think it suits the atmosphere of Descension much better. My playing is not very tight on it but I can always re-record it. I think I might add a melody over the top too.
The more I see, the more I am getting to know the style of the game.

It is odd sounding music, almost relaxing and unsettling at the same time, this is good because the impression I get from Descension is that it appears to be paradise on the surface but really it is a horrible place underneath: like a cross between 1984, Blade Runner and Deus Ex.

Thanks my friend, there will be even more nice additions and details. Thanks for new piece, i'm gonna listen to it now.
And for the alpha version, i would not suggest to you download it if you didn't did that already. It was made by two people at the begining of team creation. Whole levels are now diffrent and much better, not just levels, whole game. So consider that alpha is diffrent game from past, we're on new now

I'm hoping for new pictures in few days, thanks again to everyone who commented, huge thing for us.
Cheers
