Hi,

I'm really pleased to announce that as of today baxslash is now a full time employee of The Game Creators Ltd!

I have been working with Steve for many months on a range of projects. He is a very talented AppGameKit developer and we have a wide selection of cool AppGameKit projects for him to work on.

The first of these projects will come to light early next month, so watch out for that.

The whole team welcomes Steve on board the good ship TGC and I'm sure we'll all benefit from his AppGameKit skills.

Thanks Batvink

You can't call me anything I haven't been called at some point

Looking forward to hammering AppGameKit to its limit over the coming months. Hopefully working on it full time will also give me some useful insights that can help the rest of the community too!

Sadly, baxslash handles BASIC only (?). It's Lee and Paul who actually create AGK. (Sorry if I forgot somebody else - but I didn't know about your existance!)

Still not 100% sure who works on what myself yet, but yes I'll be working in AppGameKit Basic (at least for the time being).

Thanks again for your kind words guys

Mainly games but there might be tools I need to make (or finish off) to get the job done

Maybe there will be opportunities at some point to put my C# and DBPro skills to use but the focus is really on games at the moment. The one I'm finishing at the moment should be fun!

Reading these forums is what got me this job and the skills to do it! I intend to keep doing whatever I can to help others get what I get from this place, although more will need to be done at night than during the day in future for sure.

I am quite pleased with how the first day has gone and inspired by all of your posts. Shucks guys...

Congratulations baxslash - it's well deserved, and not too surprising with all your amazing games, tools, articles, and assistance that you've provided in the forums.

Congratulations Sir Baxslash Typealot! (Guess no one called you that before!)

I'm sure many of us here are envious of your upgrade to TGC employee

Now just make sure to slap em all in the head from time to time, to make sure they fix all those nasty bugs, and may they pay you well!

Well this puts a hole in my plan to take over the world. I've got to go find me another baxslash now. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to get one?!

Anyway, congratulations mate! I'm sure we'll see some masterpieces appear over the next few months (and beyond). Does your secret TGC laboratory still receive email?

Congratulations, it's a good sign for AppGameKit (and TGC) future that TGC hires and invest on (very talented) people.
BTW what about your previous job? Were you a full employee or a consultant? It was not about gaming, I suppose.

I worked for a CAD software development company creating custom structural steelwork component tools. The last job I finished created a full portal frame building including all of the required connections.

I have to say I wasn't expecting such a positive response from you all. TY

Hodgey's from Australia, while TGC is located in Great Britain. Baxslash lives in Great Britain . (Or he is mad because he has travelled to Great Britain for that last competition where the topic was "chocolate")

Very well done baxslash!

Hope you really enjoy full time coding, after all its a great job when working with a good dev team and NOT working on business apps.

I did that years ago and it drove me out of the industry.....lots of pressure and very boring indeed. Still I guess it depends on the team you work with and what kinda apps.....my first job was coding in COBOL on a mainframe......soooo slow and boring....took many minutes to compile...then you hit the debug cycle....DOH..

Good luck and well done.

Constantly seeking!

I wish I were but I haven't reached the level baxslash is on, he's set some very high standards but thank you for the compliment, it made my day. However, if baxslash needs a part time assistant...

Quote: "Hodgey's from Australia, while TGC is located in Great Britain."

That is true however, we were colonized by the British. That counts for something right?
