ZOMBIFIED 2: The attack of the awesome subtitle!

Developed by MetalDevil123 using FPS Creator x9

Storyline: (as nonexistent as in the first Zombified) Zombie apocalypse has started, you should survive.

The story is pretty much that, but the actual game is not so much about the actual story, it's about what the characters goals are (which will change through the game e.g: You have to go to the evacuation center; the evac center is overrun, you have to figure out something else) and what the character is going through in the situations and how he reacts to something. This will be presented through texts in the game and, like in the first Zombified through loading screens, which will tell what the character is feeling and what he is planning on doing next.

There's the familiar rules, the zombies need to be shot in the head in order for you to kill them, and one bite (or hit) you're dead. This will be even better thanks to the limb detection thingy, so that shooting in the head doesn't mean that you can shoot 50cm from the head and still kill the zombie. I'll just have to figure out how to apply this to the other Bond1 zombies, so that the game doesn't have to be full of military infected only
Also, this time there will be iron sights, that wasn't present in the first game, as I thought that it would be too easy, but thanks to limb detection, it's not that easy anymore. Also, more focus on melee weapons too, ammunition is going to be more scarce than ever.

But now for the good part:

Just one at this moment, but you'll get more!

If you want to contact me for some reason, my email can be found next to the "profile" button. Thank you for reading, feedback welcome.

This is good news @Metal Devil 123 because I still owe you a full review from the original Zombified

And if you can bear it, I'll go bughunting in every build you offer me.

Bumping without anything to really show...

So, I'm searching and trying to figure out the limb detection stuff. I found this Limb Finder (by Scene Commander) but it's not available anymore and I just can't figure out how this stuff works. I have looked the community guide v2, it shows how to use http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=180608&b=21 that thing, but I need to compile it or something like that, which I understand I should have DBPRO for? I may look like a complete idiot trying to talk about this, but I just can't figure this out...

Thanks in advance for your help...

I have searched the limbs for bond1's old zombie pack too but they are not included in the .fpe (as they are p.e. in the TF341 characters .fpe).

Maybe just send bond1 a mail and ask him for help?

Yeah, I guess I'll try that, or mailing Scene Commander about his program. Thanks anyways

EDIT: *sigh* Makes me feel completely stupid, but the Limb Finder was in the FPS Creator/Tools... this fact was mentioned TWICE in the thread I was looking at. I don't know how it's possible I missed it, but somehow I managed to do that. There is like ten comments there and 2 of them mention that and I miss it. Well, the main thing is, that I found it now and it's (so far) working like a charm! Many thanks to Scene Commander!!

And here's the start of level 2, where you come out from underground and wander around the neighborhood.

Thanks TheDesertEagle!

Here are some new screenshots for you, they are all taken from level 2, which goes through from the bunker exit, through backyards to a house, through which you get to a construction site. From all the levels I have made this is by far my favorite (well, I liked the office level in the first Zombified a lot too, but that's enough of that). But here are the screens:

The picture of this house from the outside, you'll be able to get to the inside areas, but I ain't gonna show that, you'll see it when you play it.

This truck crashed through the fence, nothing that special about this scenario, except I like the effect on the headlights, hope you do too!

An overhead view of the construction site, it's a work in progress still, but I like how it turned out.

So that's it for now! It's 3:00am (am is the one in the night, right) so I'll be going to sleep, it's just that time really passes by when I get to that flow of creating and everything just falls into place nicely.

Comments and criticism is highly appreciated!

Nice stuff. The first screenshot had me second guessing but the rest of your pics really gave me hope. I loved the style of the the first. Maybe you will pull something off that is even better.

(usually I don't comment screenshots but in this case I KNOW a game will be following).

Basically I like the screens but 3 things need improvement, which lead to a single solution

You should get off the obvious grid.
The tire track in the first pic allready does the job but the last pic is just to square. You need overlapping terrain lines and round elements.
The elevation needs variation too. If the playing area is mostly 1 or 2 segments high it feels more 2D than actually 3D
Both of these problems can be solved with additional enties OUTSIDE the designated playing area. It makes all the difference when a map should feel "real".

Sorry that I haven't said anything here for quite a long time, but since 3 weeks ago, I could have only worked on this game on weekends (if even then), so that's why there haven't been any updates for a while. Also, I am multitasking with another project, which I started a long time ago, which I felt I wanted to finish.

Is there still a link to download the first one? Mine got corrupted some how, and I can't find a way to get another copy due to the fact that megaupload is down.

Long time no see!
A new screenshot from Level 3! I've been busy with the little time that I have now, but now I'm running into the memory cap problem with this level, so it needs to be scaled down. I wanted for it to have some freedom, but I guess I'll have to make it more linear for it to work.

And Mini0013xx, I will try what I can, if there are still people who want to play it. Don't count on me still having it though (or having time to upload this weekend).

I updated the Zombified showcase thread with the link, but here it is too, if some of you missed it:

Beat the whole thing. I've got to say, I'm impressed. Had a lot of fun.

The game was actually a little scary because of the fact that you only gave the player one hit. Makes the character be more cautious with what he's doing.

On to the gameplay, it was fun, but the challenge was definitely not solid moving up.

Levels:
1. Very Easy
2. Easy
3. Easy-Medium
4. Medium-Hard
5. Medium
6. Easy
7. Hard
8. Hardest
9. Easy-Medium

Overall, it was good. I liked how there were sets of zombies that you had to shoot, giving you the fear of running out of ammo (due to the fact that there is no ammo counter).

I also liked how I would strive for my character to survive, just for the sake of him surviving.

Gameplay: 10/10
Level Design: 9/10 (Noticed some framerate drops on some of the flatter levels)
Storyline: 0/10 (For it being non existent, lol).

Like I said, great game. Would have loved a storyline, but overall it doesn't matter when the gameplay was that good.

Can't wait for Zombified 2.

Best game EVER!!! great gameplay, humorous loading screens(the spellingand grammar errors), It was very appealing.

Some of the shaders from a couple model packs didn't really match the game, but I had a constant 60FPS on my "super Computer". and I guess my only problem was the doors that sometimes or sometimes open automatically.

And theres nothing better than being surrounded by flesh eating monsters, and hearing your gun click!

Thanks, although you can expect a better finale in Z2! Glad that you liked it!

Wow, thanks! Really appreciate this! Then I'm sure you'll like Z2 when it comes out! And yes, my grammar isn't the greatest, I'll put more effort into proof reading this time around.

Quote: " I guess my only problem was the doors that sometimes or sometimes open automatically."

Yeah, the OfficePack doors did that and I forgot to change this on some of the doors

Quote: "And theres nothing better than being surrounded by flesh eating monsters, and hearing your gun click!"

Oh the horror!

Thanks for these reviews guys, I really appreciate hearing this. Really gives me a boost on working on this one! Awesome!

EDIT*
Here is a piece of artwork for the Z2 into sequence I plan on making. It's all planned out, now making all the artwork for it, then I'm gonna make all the cool film whats a jigs and stuff. Decided that, if I can't work on the levels right now (only able to on weekends), I'll do something. Hope you like.
Hand drawn image, later edited to look like this, hope you like:

I wanted it to look a bit like the Condemned: Criminal origins opening, but still not quite like that. Yeah I know, I'm making a lot of sense at the moment

If you want to see what it looked like originally (before editing), then just give me a heads up.

Here's my attempt on breaking the squareness of the level.
I'm also completely reworking the 3rd level, as it seems that my last attempt was too large scale for FPSC to handle. I'm also thinking that the 3rd level might be a good time to give the player a gun, but maybe I'll save that for even later

The level has changed a bit since I took this screenshot, but the basic layout is still the same.

I've done some zombie variations, to give some variation other than the 4 common zombies + the military infected But anyways, here they are, maybe I went a bit over the top with some of them, but I think they turned pretty nice. They required just some basic editing, nothing too fancy, but I'm proud of them. Anyways, here they are:

(I think the head scarf is a nice touch)

So that's it, I'm also almost done with level 3, just need to do some things on the sound department (as in the other levels too), but then it's pretty much done.

I would appreciate if you told me what you think about the re-textures on the zombies, I know some may seem over the top, but these aren't gonna be appearing too often, as levels (at least in the beginning) don't have very much zombies.

Thanks for your time!

Hello! Are you still there? I can see you!

Aaaaanyways... here are some new screenshots for you, about them; They are from an old abandoned, grungy and messy drug den kind of place, in the same sense as a lot of the scenery from Condemned. I'm also trying to execute a little "twist" in this level, to mix things up, so that the game doesn't get too repetitive. Anyways, here are the screenshots:

Still a heavy WIP, need to put something fitting on the ceiling to make it look less bland, but for now I have been working more on the other scenes.

And that's it. 3 screenshots, I'm being generous this time

I'm also thinking of adding some papers (pages) to read here and there, to make the searching of all the areas besides the main route more rewarding. Also, maybe you can find a gun or a better melee weapon if you look really hard

Wow, progress seems to be at an even pace, judging by the quality of those levels.

I love that subway screen,( as well as that poster on the wall) The subway really looks like, well, a subway, It looks real, I love it.

Any planned release? You know, before the zombie era of games fade from popularity, those medieval games are coming up fast!

I don't normally like to down-talk a game but I feel like you could do a little more work on the subway. It looks alright, but I know you could redo the concept and give us a better design.

I'll release it when it's done. If a miracle happens, maybe this year, but realistically thinking maybe (early) 2013. Again, I'm not promising anything, I will take the time I need, no matter how long it takes or how many times zombies have gone out of fashion (I don't care, I always thought zombies were cool and always will), but one thing's for sure; this will come out. I may have abandoned projects in the past, but that's not gonna happen with Zombified.

Yes, this is still a heavy WIP, I'll see what I can do about it. Already actually redesigned it once completely, but maybe 3rd time's the charm

And I didn't take that as down-talking a game, it's feedback, which is what I need if I want to make this game any good. Thank you.

Looking pretty cool so far and I like the re-textures of the zombies.
Is that a 'VPL' (visible pantie line) I see on the girl zombie on the far right standing next to the girl with the Batman T-shirt?
Just an observation.

All the best of luck with this.

loved the first one, am gonna love this one. Just want to say that these screenshots are rather sexy. If you need any models or props or character anims just let me know.

@ross tra damus

looks indeed like a VPL/whaletail. she must've been pretty trashy before she became undead, I guess she had quite a few infections, and now we know how the zombie one is transmitted

You guys

Thanks for the comments! Really appreciate it.

But oh the ironing! Right after I mention never leaving this project, my computer decides that it's time for another random breakdown. But I can already hear people chanting "FPS Creator curse", but no, it was only an attempt at the curse. I have everything that's even remotely related to Zombified 2 on an external hard drive

Yes yes, you can just thank god that I didn't make one for the fat zombie! And don't think that I won't

@Metal Devil123,

Overall the level design is looking super dude!

My only crit is on the middle model below:

The pants are an unnatural color. Seems like you had a bit too much fun with Saturation.

Otherwise I'm looking forward to downloading and playing this!

I'M BACK!

And I got new screenshots for you guys! I hope you like them, I loosely based them off of where I live. It's an apartment building, it has 3 floors as of now and a storage room on the top level, however, this area may be one that's not accessible.

I want you to say if you'd like to explore through this level (as in no zombies or anything, just walking around and seeing the design)?
Anyways, enough talk, here are the screenshots:

Sorry about the dark images, but that place has no electricity, so it's all natural light or ones that work with batteries.

OH, and I'll see what I can do about those unnatural pants.
(read that sentence aloud. That's something I never expected to say)

Looks amazing.

Just a quick question, how many levels do you expect this to have upon release?

Thanks. And how many levels? At least the same amount as the first game, but I'm hoping more. Probably about 10-15 maybe.

Great! The last game had 9 missions, and this one could have even more! I hope the player has as much urge to move on to the next level as I did in the last game!

Hello. That is all.

No, but really, I do have something to post about! I just put this game on IndiDB, yay! Here's a link:
http://www.indiedb.com/games/zombified-2

Also, a new screen. It can be seen from there, but I'll just go ahead and put it here also:

Ain't that a pleasing sight, a gun. Don't get used to that though!
