Whoa there boy !

I hope you got/get the e-mail I sent ya, it has a dandy 3rd person crosshair example. If you didn't I'll explain it in a nutshell (Jessticular would also be a big help).

Don't ever disable an object's z depth unless you intend for the object to ALWAYS be visible no matter what when it's pointed at you - even if the 3rd person character is in front of it (not good).
Also, you're moving the crosshair 100 units without checking whether or not it has collided with anything.

I was fortunate to acquire a method from some folks here at the forum. Basically, you hide a long plain that is positioned at right angles from the player's pointing position. If that plain is touched, the crosshair is positioned at that point and the distance calculated. If you need some help with matrix collision, check out the source code I e-mailed. Hope I helped...
Good Luck...

Thanks but i'm not doing matrix collision at all plus using any DB collision is just plain slow, the problem wasn't that the crosshair was going into things it's that is orentation was all screwed up. I finaly figured it out by setting the crosshair plain to "set object rotation zyx". Thanks for posting anyway
