Maybe you guys already have, and I'm an idiot (which may be the case anyhow), but why not include some barebones genre-based game code packs? For those of us very new to DB/DBP (I only have DB, I saw it at compUSA and decided it was better than my other 11 game studio programs), it would be a kindness to provide some very basic code packs that allow a newbie to start making a playable game from a guideline and make that newbie feel all good about him/herself. I, personally, am very new to DB, and would have much preferred a GUI based (basic drag and drop) game developing program, but decided it made more sense to become one with coding. I do in fact have a snippet of the One with Code user modification, but I can't say it worked for me... (lol)

If anyone knows a good barebones RPG document, please, send me a link/IM to Squirrelkinesis over AIM!

And were it not for the newbie, all you veterans would seem as new as they do.

When you say:
Quote: "you guys"

Are you refering to TGC or us humble "guy's" that use the forums?

Well, in the help files, there is the barebone for an FPS, it's called "Iced"...

Also, if you look in the "snippets" section of this forum, you will find there is a post called "Bare-bone RTS" or something to that effect...

Other than that, i think it'll be up to you to make one your self...

Btw, an RPG is kind of a wide genre to cover with a bare-bone demo... There are so many different RPG's out there, ranging from Diablo II to the FF series, that it is kinda hard to make a bare-bone... You really need to just start from scratch, workign yourself up from the ground and just basically ripping apart other peoples demos/tutorials and seeing what does what and why this is there and why that is like that etc...

Hey, your making me all big-headed... lol...
im glad that you feel that way... Thanks man...

Btw, you too will pick up what's going on in the DB scene if you just sit down for about an hour every night and code, without distractions, without music playing, without any browsing the forums asking for help, you can easily become as good as me, or better...

I myself am not that good, I just understand the commands is all...
And the way i learnt was exactly the way that i have mentioned above, i went through all of the help files with DB, ripped apart a few tutorials then got stuck into some hard-core coding, until, finally, i came out with a magnificent pile of sh*t that wouldn't seem to work no matter what i did. So i stopped coding for a while, got ontot he forums, and fixed up my main problems, then i was fine

Hope That Helped you both...

PS real sorry bout the huge post... lol...
