I have no idea what DircetX 9.0 is, and this is because this is my first time going to get into actual game making. You see, I'm planning to get FPS Creator, and I didn't put it on the FPSC forums because I don't know where this would actually be put. So, what is DirectX 9.0?

Have high standards, and proudly live them.

It's a bit of a heavy read, but here's's the Wikipedia article on it.

Basically, it's an interface for the software on your computer to talk to the graphics card in your computer somewhat easily and efficiently. DirectX 9.0c is the ninth version of the interface with a couple of updates to it(hence the 'c' in the name).

The easy answer is just download it from Microsoft, and install it.

Basically DirectX is required to be installed to run any programs or games that are DirectX based. You will not be doing anything with DirectX yourself with FPSC, but FPSC needs it in order to run. So do the majority of video games out there that run on Windows. It is basically used for talking to your graphics card (probably the least confusing way of describing it). All you need to worry about is installing it if your computer does not already have it installed.

If you like: FPSC uses DirectX to speak to your graphics card and tells it to do stuff for you.

If you are just concerned about DirectX because FPSC requires it and you don't plan on developing any of your own programs using DirectX the just use this installer: DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer

And Here Is A Penguin:
FPSC OneSource [DeskTop App] - Bringing everything together into one.
