What do i use for a 2d game background? like a matrix with a texture on it? and if so how can i get the camera over the matrix i keep saying

point camera 0,50,0 which should point the camera over the matrix right? and if not then how?

a 2D background would be better not a 3D Matrix. paste image,x,y might work better
