My name is Connor and my daily job is a Reporter, However not a sucessfull one.
I Suffer from Insomnia, i Useully can't sleep that much, i always wake up at night,
and whenever i get some sleep i'll have a nightmare that will wake me up with my
heart pumping out of my chest; But that won't get in the way with my job.

The last nightmare i had was 3 days ago, I Dreamed that i was followed by this guy in my own house,
I Renember a bathroom and then all of a sudden i was in a Asylum cell, filled with blood ..
Then the next thing i know is i just woked up. This happend 3 Days ago; after i recived the interesting
report of one of the most hunted scene's known to the human race. The Hunted Asylum.

I Renember when I was a Kid my mother used to tell me stories
about this MadHouse. After it got closed due to unexplained deaths and suicides -
Strange things been happening and it was announced as HUNTED.

I want to look more into this hauntings of the aslyum, and see if it is truely that paranormal.
This is my big chance. I'm getting my camera ready and going to report Pennyhill.

About PennyHill
PennyHill is a Asylum that was closed in 1980s. Located in East of california and The old madhouse was home
for the lunitice, Some of them with horrific events that occured in Pennyhill.After the Closing;
Pennyhill was spread that it was one of the most Hunted Places known to the human race. Sightnings
like voice's coming from the Asylum are common, But in Pennyhill there is thing's far more worst than that;
And you get to witness it all.

@Lotgd, That's the point it's suppose to be tilted like a player holding a camera. Mabye i will change this but not yet i'm still deciding

@Disturbing 13, Thanks! Yeah it fitted well in my game so i used it which it's cool and give's a very silent hill type game!

Looking very stylish and I for some strange reason do like the slanted camera appature which I think will add to the suspense because some things are hidden from the Players view.
Don't despair with the lack of response its happening more and more lately but this should not stop you from doing what you want.

I too am liking the slanted camera. i don't know how hard it would be to pull off but if the camera tilted left and right while the player walks would give it even more realism. This can be done by using a weapon for the camera. Just a suggestion.

@disturbing 13 Wouldnt a "wobble" effect pull that off? I see what your saying but having the camera move the whole time would be even more realistic cuz a camera can never stay still in your hands perfectly unless you have it sitting on something or on like a tripod

if the camera is a HUD could create a sequence of images, and with script do the animation, so as to seem realistic.

Yeah. That would be a cool one,like when you move the camera get's slanted where the player is moving. But i have something similare; the wobble effect , the camera moves the whole time just like When you're holding it.

wow! I love it!

This game is very unique and has a few scares to get you going! This is really thought out and i like the HUD cuz its in a different point of view and not just an ordinary fps horror game!

for some reason it's failing at the launcher. Usually Vishnu Launcher works great on my comp, never had a problem. Any ideas?

I played as far as I could get, but there are some things that bother me to the extent of not being able to enjoy it properly.

1. You walk so slow. It's one thing to make the player go slower, but it's another to make him move as slow as a zombie with no feet. It makes walking through this (especially the vents) extremely frustrating.

2. The view bobbing. It didn't bother me at first, it's actually quite a nice effect, but when you need to be looking at a small key and you should keep your aim at it to make the next text appear and pick up the key, it's just bad. It would be better if you didn't have to look directly at the key, just in the general direction of it.

3. The darkness. I know you're supposed to use night vision, but that doesn't help too much as there is so much noise going on. If you would give the camera a light or the player a flashlight or something so that it would actually illuminate the level, that would be okay. But this isn't too bad, it's just a little thing.

I think that number one is the most frustrating at the moment, but number 2 is pretty bad for gameplay too. It's too bad that a game that I looked like it had so much potential just couldn't deliver on it because of those 2 main problems. Other than that, it looks great and gave me some legitimate chills and scares. I'd say it's a very promising project and has what it takes to be a great project, but it needs some polishing in the gameplay department.

@Disturbing 13, That's wierd, i had that problem with a other guy too :/. i Will upload version 2 in a few, it will include bug fixes and new features! Dont worry, i' wont keep you waiting it's out soon

@Metal Devil123 Thanks for you're suggestions and feedback, had Same problems with some people, Dont worry i did fixed all of that, Version 2 is coming soon and it will include a better gameplay and some new effects along with new features and fixed bugs like the keybug and even now you can pick up items with the mouse key.

I still can't get it going even after Vishnu isn't involved. I get it to the title page and it loads to varying degrees when i start a new game, then it crashes with 'error 13'. I see you used the community mod. I don't know what version of FPSC it is based on but it is my belief that either 1.18 or possibly 1.19 (leaning more toward 1.18) is the last truly stable build. I don't know what to say.

personal opinion- I wouldn't release anything that is still using betas. I'd wait for 1.20 to be completely stable and released before putting out anything.

i didn't work on it but i do agree with you, but the mod works great for me. Also i can't get the game working either.

The latest version of Shutter from IndieDB works well for me.

However, the levels are pretty dark and I got stock already in level 1 since I don't find a way to move on when the first enemy appears.

I originally wanted to give this game a full review but then Vishnu prevented me from taking screenshots and I didn't want to replay it with fraps running.

I'll talk about a lot of negative aspects of this game now so I want you to know that I like the idea and that I think the game has a lot of potential. It suffers however from many designflaws which I will adress now:

The game is supposed to take place in an abandoned asylum. However, none of the rooms remind you of one. The rooms come rather random and there doesn't seem to be any kind of coherent architecture. A reappearing prop in this game is a shopping cart which is okay once to suggest that some homeless people might have lived there but the game has a lot of them and they appear to be just random filler. There are meathooks on chains in the entrance hall and there is even a room with modern computers. (?)

The subtitles are okay but feel a bit forced and awkward. especially in the part where you dream "this isn't real, I am lucid dreaming" just rips the interest and tension out of the scene. Nobody talks that way.
I had a lot of clunky dialogue in euthanasia and I think this can be because you, Kumi, are not english like me. (its also "an old key" not "a old key". )

The random and unnatural cameramovement in the game has really no purpose. You get the feeling of being drunk while moving around in a painfully slow pace (yet the game sends you in really long airventtubes).

I could see how that first ghost that appeared died.

The scare with the mannequin is really out of place. You might have been inspired to do this by "condemned: criminal origins." However, they used it in an abandoned shopping mall full of mannequins. You however used it in an Asylum where there shouldnt be one.

The randomness of scares and overblown sounddesign (you have sounds all over the place and the player immediately gets that these are just sounds placed willynilly and not sounds from your surroundings: not scary.) You have a few very good sounds too...the one with the distant footsteps would be very good if I wouldn't have been aware that its just a soundzone from all the other random noise.

These medieval'esque wooden barrels are out of place too.

The game prevented me from even having an uneasy feeling due to the overly fake and unbelievable environemnt. I didn't really care about my surroundings nor progress of the game.

Your appartment is another example of mismatching props and the tutorial as generated texts on the wall doesn't really help it much.

Now this might sound harsh, and I am aware that this is your first game. But you have some real talent, Kumi and you should set the bar high for you. At least in my opinion. You could deliver a great game if you would put in some effort.

You are also too talented to hide behind "its so good for an fpsc game" "fpsc is limited" arguments and really deliver on this.

@wolf I've had some mistakes in the game Yeah, i wanted to the first level to Be in like the asylum Kitchen.

As you mentoined no, i'm not english i check that bit around to make it more relistic but wanted the player to like see that he is in a dream.

I Wanted the player to move in a slow condition becouse you can't realy run while holding a Camera.

@Disturbing 13, I Used to have it but as i build game a error comes up so i had to remove it but there still some script's in there but no, It's 1.19 FPSC. I Dont realy know what the error 13 Means tho oO. It just crashs then after it says 13?

Thats a major achievment to make a game like this right off the bat in FPSC!

Hey, playing this I noticed that everything's rotated only using "r". Try "shift + R" and "ctrl + R". Everything looks a bit weird if they are perfectly rotated like that Hope it helps.

It's not working for me, I really want to test it, it looks very promising

I have Windows 7 64-Bit if that helps, FPSC is usually workin gperfectly under it.
