Hey there,

really nice progress! I think that the hand's fingers are a little too thin. I don't know if it's a special style you're aiming for, but that looks a little strange if you want a realistic-looking style for the game (which seems so).

That fish-thing looks very impressive. I'd love to see it textured.

Greetings,
Jan

Hi TheK, I agree with you the fingers are a little too thin. I tried to pretend lack of nutrition, but..

about the fish-thing, I hope you like.

Hi Metal Devil123. Thanks for your comment, and yes. The big claw is based on some screenshot that I saw it on a half life 2 mod.

As always enjoying the progress of this one.
However I find it a little strange to see ivy growing inside of that structure, it just looks so out of place, normally ivy grows where it can catch sunlight and the building doesn't look old and ruined enough for such stuff to grow inside.
You would expect there to be a collapsed ceiling letting in light and enough dirt and rotted wood to have accumulated for ivy to take root. Also since it seems at least somewhat occupied it simply seems odd. Unless its some biological or organic anomaly related to the plot, but even then maybe use something less generic and a little more sinister. Even cobwebs would be better.

LOL if it isn't ivy then ignore me, but it sure looks like it from the screenshot

Its a very simple effect to create low rising mounds from floor to wall of dirt and dust using low poly models which can be placed all over and in corners, this works really well to break up floors and the 'boxiness' of architectural level designs.

I don't trip over...I do random gravity checks.

Hi rolfy, I think your comments are accurate. I will do tests with the low rising mounds. I think it's a good idea, thanks for the suggestion.

Looks certainly stunning!
Did you edit the pictures or is this what the lighting looks like in-game? If so, you definately have a neat way to let the player see everything while keeping the room-ambience very dark.

While I'm pretty fed up with horrorgames, I keep coming back to see what marvels you come up with!

Some more details on what the gameplay will be like would be interesting!

This is a prime example of incredibly good atmosphere. Lots of creators feel they need to make it pitch black to make a scary game. Not so. This is some of the best atmosphere I've seen from FPSC.

Hey pal!

This looks indeed very atmospheric! The building feels very real and creepy.

In that last shot it kinda looks like the shader on your (beautiful) creaturemodel reacts to that candle light in realtime. It looks like the canlde lights it up from below...is that actually possible or just a coincidence.

If it is possible: how?

the shadow should be cast far from the character like indicated by the angle of the candle, but that's just nit-picking. this game is an excellent example of tasteful use of shaders and modern graphics to create an atmospheric level design. I'm impressed! games like mine have stiff competition from fpsc when compared to gems like this. I hope this is released.

Schizo pre alpha gameplay 10 minutes

This Video doesn't represent the final quality of the game;
this is an early preview version featuring the gameplay of the game, but lacking many of the features to be found in the final release.

The final version will be in English

Incredible stuff here. When I was watching your video I noticed you had cabinets that were animated, you could open or close them. Did you make these yourself, or did you get them from somewhere? If they aren't exclusive items I think they'd be awesome to have somehow. Not much of a deal, however.

Color me impressed!

I have rewatched your video twice and must confess that I dont know how you did it. While I do have an idea on how the features work separately (except for the lockpick prompt and how well these dynamic lights work). I must congratulate you on how professionally, smooth and polished you integrated them.

Design and atmosphere seem professional and deep, even if the soundtrack makes it feel a little too "produced" to be nightmarishly scary. (it all feels more eeriee...which is also good) Its certainly the best polished game I have ever seen, the best scripted sequences, the best HUD and mechanics and the most coherent visuals. Nothing seems to stick out like sore thumb here.

Now, I must ask you a few questions

* What FPSC Version is this running on and...did you mod the source?

* How did you manage to get all these features in one level without hitting the memorycap?

These are the questions burning in my heart!
I hope TGC catches wind of this! You should have a badge for this!

Hey there,

just amazing demonstration what FPSC is capable of. Very exceptional stuff you're showing here. And I think, the soundtrack is OK. In fact, I browsed for the artist and found out that he offers some very nice music suitable for all kinds of media.
I'd like to join Wolf and get behind the "secret"...

I really look forward to Halloween!

As far as I know, he's using an unmodded version of 1.20.

@dimoxinil
I'm not sure if I've posted in this thread before, but this game looks absolutely stunning, the graphics, the atmosphere, and the overall professional look make this game look beautiful.

I'll definitely look into buying this when it comes out! (If I can get a hold of a PC that can run it :p)

Hi all. I'm glad you like the video. Thanks for your comments and contributions.

I will try to answer all your questions.

Hamburger, I use my own combination of uzi idiot post-effects.

Burger, the cabinets are exclusive of Schizo, I'll make a few more objects of this kind; if you are interested I could do a little tutorial.

Hi Wolf, I compiled with version V120 Public Beta 17 (unmodded). The map of the last video consumed 1700 mb aprox, the lightmaps quality was 70. The best choice for memorycap is create a relatively small/mediun space. All game maps has approximately this size.

Zombie Killer, the game is very very very optimized, should work on any low/med computer. It's one of my main concerns. If your computer is able to run Amnesia you can play Schizo without any kind of problems.

Hi Treck, yes incompetech is a fantastic place for creative commons music. If you want I can make reports of memorycap in my next map.

hukuta94 I want to have a schizo demo ready for late summer.

Now my question:

You think that 3$ dollars/Euros is a fair price for this game

Bye

You could get more. Then again, I would base price more on game size + play time. There is a fine line for it all. In your case- if you did 3-4 levels- $5 would be acceptable I think. Anything more and then you can look for a little more to match the effort input.
