I was wondering, are there any good program that can keep track of memory and cpu usage while playing a game? Maybe even if it uses the harddrive a lot. I want to see how much the game I am creating requires. So it would be nice to see after test runs of the game.

I use MSI Afterburner for GPU related things.

I remember a program called CPU-Z for checking the CPU.

Otherwise, windows task manager is a good place to go as well. You can check HDD access there if you click on the "Resource Monitor" button.

Okay, maybe I just need to check the task manager now and then, then It would be nice if I could see a report with how much memory was used at peak and stuff like that.

Or you can use Process Explorer as a replacement for the Task Manager (you can even set it to open when pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ESC or CTRL+ALT+DEL. I haven't actually seen the regular task manager in a long while ). I didn't see an option to export or generate statistics, but as you can see in this screenshot I just made that I can keep track of these six graphs for the last 10 minutes (and my horizontal resolution is just 1366 plus it's at an update speed of 1 second, you can change it to 0.5 / 1 / 2 / 5 / 10 seconds so you could have graphs for 2h or more if your screen is big enough )
You can also see these graphs for the whole system. Oh and I should mention that it only starts generating them when you open the window, which is why I had to wait 10 minutes to make that screenshot

Hope this helps, I bet there are better programs to keep track of things or log this stuff.

Edit: nearly forgot to put in the second link (screenshot) ^^'

Looks good bitJericho! But can you do that for a specific task or does it monitor the whole system only?

You can do individual processes that are running. Create a data collector set, find "process" in the list and add what you want to record, then in the second list choose the process you want to record.
