I just posted but it told me a I need a forum profile. So I must type this over.

I am attempting to skin a texture onto a .X file. It's not a tiled texture, but a detailed one. I want to make it so that when I load in onto an object in "Dark Basic Professional', it will lay out perfectly onto the model.

I am using Cinema 4D XL R8 to do my models if that matters.

I might need UV mapping, which I can't figure out how to do with Cinema 4D. If there is some freeware or a cheap program I can use to do this, I would appreciate a lot.

Please drop a line or two on the post.

Thanks,
James

you do need u/v mapping.

i never maped anything in c4d but all the programs i used are about the same highlight the area, apply a projection, then tweak u/v's if needed.

try c4d's website.
