so is there any way to import DirectX ASCII file format models into DBPro? Or does anyone one know of a small program that converts these files to regular DirectX .x format? Figure it can't be that hard. DirectX format to DirectX format! Sheesh. Thanks

I take it you mean export?

What software are you using? A lot of times it usually gives you the option of how you want to export your data. (binary, acsii, etc.)

Personally, I use truespace, and it gives me the option before saving on what I want to save it too, and how it gets saved.(binary/acsii)

Not sure on any specific converters, just try some different 3D applications out.

A book? I hate book. Book is stupid.

Assuming you are talking about which formats DBP supports, it supports both binary and ASCII Dx model format.

Can I ask you a Question?
What is it?
It's an interrogative form of sentence, used to test knowledge. But that's not important right now.

Ok, in response to yellow : No, I mean import into DBPro, I have some DirectX ascii format files (in the form of a .txt) and I need them in DBPro.

How? Since I posted this I got one to load but the model was screwy looking in the program. Is there a special command or parameter I need to use when loading the ascii file? It basically looked like the normals were messed up and it extended forever in one direction.

Were you attempting to use vertex colors? If so, that's the problem, but there'll be a fix for that sometime soon
