Does anyone know some original ideas to earn money? Mowing and all that stuff is out because it is winter.

It can be online stuff to. I would apply for a job but stupid Texas "Child" labor law prevents me to.

I'm good in graphic design and photography but I don't know where to start to go earn some cash off those two things. If you guys have any ideas please share! Thanks.

Shovel snow.

If you're only in junior high then who needs a job yet? Ask your parents for some chores and earn an allowance.

I think he's probably in high school. Doesn't matter anyways, though. As long as you're living with your parents, you don't need to get a job.

Unfortunately, I know of many parents who refuse to give their children money for work; hopefully you don't have one of those, poor financial situations excluded of course...

You say you can't do online stuff, but if you could, I'd look into those websites where you can offer work to someone on things like software and graphics development for a certain amount of money, then you complete said work and reel in the bacon! Of course, things like that require lots of skill, determination, and confidence as you get bound to doing the work you are assigned.

You say you can't work, can you still sell stuff?? Like if you made a game, completely under your own will and control, would it be legal for you to sell that?

@Dark basic dude79-

Oh, come on! Not even I can sell computer games, and I've been making them since elementary! If you know of a YouTube-type distributor that will just sell anything that comes their way, let me know.

Oh, I never stated he would do such things, I was just using that as an example to ask him about the legality of him selling stuff.

Too risky, might get stung by a nettle.
If your into photography, maybe sell compromising photo's of the neighbours or your parents, they might pay you NOT to sell 'em. Which in my experience is far more lucrative

Check out fiverr.

Do Amazon mechanical turk with your parent's info if they allow it.

Make a simple web product that fills a need.

Make a simple app store app that and fills a need.

Those are pretty much my get rich quick schemes... none of them will probably get you rich though, unless you really come up with a good need. I know I been brainstorming for a good couple years and haven't come up with a good one

If you wanted to come up with a need to fill, a good way to do that is pick a few competing businesses and ask them what their major problems are and then see if you can fix any of them.

If you do come up with something brilliant and want help I'm game for partnering on a simple web app.

Make gigs at fiverr.com, I hire people all the time there. Think of a good gig and post it. One guy I hired there has hundreds of customers so he has made a lot of money, but he is VERY good, do something that people want and you will get hired. If you like photography sign up with a site like istock or others, and sell the use of your images.

I assumed junior high since the texas labor law prohibits hiring anyone under 14. Otherwise I didn't see why it would prevent him from working. Either that or he was trying to work in a factory.

Actually High School and anyone below 16 has to fill out tons of paper work and most places prefer to hire older people.

Depends, I managed to get casual work at the age of 15 here. Just gotta aim for something simple, like a part time cafe job or something, serving tables or cleaning dishes. Sucks, but it's money.

Starting work early really helps when you're looking to do the real thing as an adult. I wouldn't have gotten the quite nice job I have now, were it not for a slew of crappy jobs to gain the experience required.

The grocery store by my highschool hired almost exclusively teens. I always gotta find that one old lady cashier so I can get my beer, she'll just be walking over to the other lane to scan it anyway. And best buy around here hires lots of highschoolers.

My first highschool job at 15, grocery bagger. I think back then it was only $5.35/hr

I doubt walmart makes an exception for anything. You must live in a small town.

Fiverr.com seems excellent for anyone with a skill they can sell digitally/virtually. I saw this thread, and within 2 days I'd spent $30.

If you can convert an average skill to something quirky, it will make money I'm sure. I bought this within 10 minutes of seeing the site for my daughter's upcoming birthday.

See that's why I'd be a terrible marketing guy. I'd never think something like that would sell! Camera needs to be on a tripod to fix the jittering, more frames need shot, etc....

To make the stop-animation smoother. I tried it once with a friend a long time ago with gi joes. After about 4 hours we barely had 3 seconds of real video, so I understand the time it takes to do it well.

Here's mine I did years ago for a school project. It took me one hour of picture taking to get almost 30 seconds. It wasn't the smoothest. Plus I had to edit out a few pictures. Hot wheels was the cheapest to do imo. I recommend tripod stand or anything that can hold your camera still. lol

a good way to make money is to get a job, Get one of those jobs where they teach you everything you need to know and dont care if you have no experience. Like i got a cablemonkey job a month ago, Its a lot of physical labor of pulling cable and stuff. i new nothing about this field and in a week i was taught pretty much everything to get me started on working on my own

dont hate people who rip you off, cheat and get away with it, learn from them

Cablemonkey? Like RG-6, RG-11, coaxial cable? Or is it like running rj45 or FO lines in buildings? I work in the communication industry as a line technician(grunt). Adjusting the in/out frequencies running from LEs and Amplifiers, running hardline, climbing ladders, adventuring in crawl spaces/attics/ etc. Ever seen a guy in a bucket truck or up a ladder at a telephone pole? Could have been me! o_O

NIlooc223, Texas is fun. (Not really. ) I was born and raised in Alice, TX. I used to build cheap computers with used parts and sell them at the local fleamarket on saturdays and sundays when I was 14, so you might look into something like that.

Provide a product or service. Then market yourself.
Walk dogs.
Babysit.
House sit.
Help load/unload Uhauls for people moving.
Cheap computer repair/upgrade.
Offer to clean out gutters.
Wash cars for neighbors (Tejas can be dusty)
Clean peoples' houses.
Dig holes.
Paint fences and/or houses.
Do art and sell it on Etsy and at artshows. (My father-in-law makes a decent income from selling his pottery.)
etc. etc. etc.

Then, Advertise, advertise, advertise. Put signs up on telephone poles with your phone number, canvas local businesses and houses. Just take a walk, and I'm sure you'll see someone advertising themselves on cardboard signs stuck in the ground or on buildings. Maybe make a website and set up some SEO. HEB may have a job board in the front you can put your info on. Some gas station's do as well. They'll have business cards stuck to a corkboard on the wall. Spend $50 and get a few hundred business cards made. Build up, then spend some cash on a yellowpage advertisement, send out mailers, etc. Get your name out there with what you are willing/capable of doing.

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

I want out of Texas. I don't like it. Not being rude or anything but people here a bit to proud have the state. It's not that great. I preferred Colorado much more. Curse moving....

I was thinking of putting up craigslist ads to repair computers along with install parts and driver for people. I'm not sure how much to charge though.
